MemoryUp Personal Free Edition (Mobile RAM Booster) - New!

Currently our product MemoryUp Professional is not active on Android Market because Android Market only provides support for free applications. And my company has been informed that we have to suspend the release until Android Market provides support for sharewares, which customers can order directly from Android Market.

Many friends are interested in MemoryUp and write letters asking me about it. Now my company has released the MemoryUp Personal Free Edition on Android Market as well as our online website. Please enjoy!

-------------------------------------

MemoryUp Personal (100% Freeware)

MemoryUp Personal is optimized for all series of J2ME smartphones, which can monitor your mobile system, freeing resources when needed. It uses many advanced features to keep your smartphone running at optimum speed. But more importantly, it's designed with all users in mind; whether you're a power-user or a novice, MemoryUp will give you the features you want without confusing or limiting you.

Product Features
Here are just some of the great features of MemoryUp Personal:

I used this product yesterday. After install and a few minutes of use, my phone went totally haywire. I'm not saying the two incidents are directly related, but it's quite the coincidence. Two examples were my home key stopped working, just stopped. Couldn't do any functions that used the home key. My draw pattern would no longer activate when I hit the end key. The only way I was able to fix this was by doing a factory reset.

A program like this has potential, but exercise caution before running this one.

I am currently running the MemoryUp Personal not the PRO version and have had no issues ... app runs ... i do a boost and it runs and reports the amount it recovers .... I want to see what happens when I get a low on memory report (yes i am just maxed on apps) ... and see how well it works ..

Thanks for the feedback fellas.

We need to take a sec to apologize to the original poster and members of the forum who were following the original thread for the paid-for version of this. In an effort to clean up (the poster made a couple more threads today for the free version) and keep it from becoming spam-like, the staff took some action and mistakenly deleted the wrong thread. Intentions were spot-on, but we're all human here.

Restoring from a previous backup would cause all more stuff to be lost from today, so the whole thread is in fact lost.

We apologize to anyone who may suffer an inconvenience and welcome the information to be re-posted on this thread so members may continue to reference the info.

(This isn't our way of endorsing the product, saying it's okay, saying it's bad, or anything like that. Just an unbias'd post explaining a mistake made on our part. Carry on with whatever tone this thread.. the original thread.. was destined to have.)

Thanks Phases ... just so it is clear I dont believe that the vendor even posted the same thing twice ... One post the (first) was for the Pro (pay) version.. And after several of us members emailed the Vendor/Dev they decided to post the Free version info here and the App on the AppMarket .... There were come concerns about the app being dangerous, do nothing, scam, etc .... so we hope other posters will return and repost their thoughts and findings ...

Mine have been good not dangerous results so far and I will keep the forum uptodate with my findings ...

This thread was indeed posted twice today (for the free version). This one and one with less formatting. I believe it to have been a mistake - the only difference was one had the purple text (this one) and one did not.

But, let us move on. I do hope the other posters will re-document their experiences here.

Phases, Agreed I may have missed the two different threads of today ... but know for sure that the posting in the original thread was for the Pro version and that my subscription msg of today was to the old thread and was the message from the DEV that he was offering a the Free version ... so when I hit the link in my email that is when I discovered the thread was now missing .... But to be clear .. not saying that the FREE MSg was not placed in more than one thread ...

I think an item might fall into multiple forums over time ... A Thread could start off as News ... and then evolve into Tips and then further evolve in to technical App discussions and trouble-shooting ... But my humble opinion is that a thead should remain connected for subscribers ... even if for some reason it needs to be moved ... I dont think just because a thread evolves over time and may overlap arbitrary group or forum subjects that ... that is a reason for moving the thread ... and disrupting the flow and history of that thread unless safeguards are in place to preserve it's intregity and all the work and knowledge and experience that WE ALL !!! have invested in making this a resource and repository for great info on Android and its growth and where it may lead ...

sorry for the long rant ... just voiceing my thoughts and concerns and hoping this doesnt happen again ... it would be a great loss for ALL of US !!!

Thanks for providing this Forum for us... Jim

I just tried to visit the deleted thread. Glad to see the owner of the app taking some "free advice" and re-posting the free vers. I am sure people who like the free one will consider the pro vers it it really does offer a better, faster, easier way of doing things.

Is the new vers. in the Market taking the place of the old version? I didn't see in my normal sort by date for today.

just downloaded this and it seemed to work alright. not a huge difference in speed, but it did seem slightly faster. i can imagine the pro version being much better.
nice app :D

also, i had to download it from the link above because i couldn't find it in the marketplace. you sure it's on there?

It is not on the Market ... Guess they offered us the Free version and will still wait to repost the Pro (pay-version) to the Market ...

Ok I took the leap, only from the link above, not the market....here's my quick take:

Upon launching the app couldn't really tell much except for the 3 bar graph. Pressing menu got a "Quick Boost" option which "seemed" to go through a variety of steps one of which was "defragging". It certainly appeared to do "something."

When it was done it said Quick Boost recovered a bunch of RAM. So I thought, let's see what happens if I run it again....and weirdly the second time it recovered twice as much 120K bytes. (again this is what it says.) The third time I ran it and it recovered another 86K bytes.

Also after running the quick boost, the cancel button didn't work but the back button did.

So maybe the devs can explain a bit more about why and how this is great.

Final note: I also have an app called Netmeter which shows CPU load, if anyone can grab that app and run it making not of the load, then download MemoryUp and then let us know if Netmeter has a change I would like some independent numerical assessment. There might be other ways.

Looking forward to learning more.

I will try to find the NetMeter ... I did a repeat test of "Boast" and got the following numbers, 206, 91, 55, 64, 108, 89, 43, 85, 89 ...

When you look at the bars ... you can see that usage varies so this can easily explain the reason for the dynamic changes ....

and apps running have effect and toggling Wifi, Gps, Bluetooth, etc.. will have impacts ... so hard to say ???

While running NetMeter and running AndroidRadio .... getting several reports of LowMemory ... I am near max on app at a count of 154 apps ....

with the MemoryUp app i am able to clear the LowMemeory Alert ... this alert may be more likely when AnroidRadio is caching the next selection ... CPU usage goes over 60% and Wifi as well ...

My opinion and what seems to be happening is that MemoryUp is doing a great job of cleaning up memory usage and definately clears the LowMemory Alert ...

I am shocked...AF users are normally all over things like this...a developer is pissed off about MemoryUp charging and created MemoryforLemmings, which claims does the same thing and will always be free.

Check it out. Also a good lesson in Java Virtual Machine memory allocation and management is given. I am trying both.

I have tried both, And I am Sticking with MemoryUp (free) it clears low memory alert and things appear to run a bit better, I have 156 apps installed and about 4mb system free at any time ....
Lemmings shows more free Memory before you run it, than after it has been run and reports free memory ....
I think maybe taking the Lemmings is the way over the cliff,
And I have not been able to get Lemmings to clear the LowMemory Alert .. where MemoryUp will ....

Jim - awesome explanation. I noticed that Lemmings seems to constantly free up 91k, like that is some magic number.

As for having that many apps installed, do you use aTrackdog to keep up to date? I have 50+ from the Market and a few others. I assume you are not counting things like Calendar or Gmail in your 150+.

I hope you use ASTRO to back up the apps on your sd card, just in case.

I do use aTrackDog to keep Versions of Apps UpToDate and I also use ASTRO to BackUp all Apps to the SDCard .. (16Gb) in my case ... I do an Entire Backup of the SDDrive Once a week ...

I have tried both and the memory up works better for me. I am still using what is left of the pro first download (think 20 uses) and only use it like once a day even though it is suggested to use it like every hour or so.

Lemming really did not do anything for me either.

With Memory up the difference is very noticeble. Now if we can get cupcake ota soon things will really be great.

I have noticed that when i get the lowMemory Alert ... It takes usually three runs of the MemoryUp Boost to clear ... so I have gotten into the habit of running it three time in a row ...
