Okay, so I'm a new android user, and this Optimus is incredible, puts most phones to shame for the price difference.

But I started with downloading advanced task manager, and saw my RAM kept going down, and even when killing apps the RAM doesn't go up much to what it was before the app opened.

So i started downloading a crap load of apps to help keep my RAM up, but am i over doing it, will the phone close the apps when it needs more RAM?

P.S. I also rooted the phone, all i have is AdFree, i don't know what to download to make it any better or more customizable, I'd like to remove a lot of sprint apps and anything that's slowing me down, any advice?

Using task killers on Android is the worst thing you could do to your device. Android has it's own system of checks and balances when it comes to memory management. Do a quick search for articles discussing why you SHOULDN'T use one and you'll understand.

Here's one I pulled from a 2 second google search.
FAQ: Why You Shouldn’t Be Using a Task Killer with Android

tldr: task managers break android, let it do it's thing and you'll be better off

If you've rooted, look into installing a custom rom to gain further space and speed/memory improvements. I'm using thundeROM and it works very well:

Oh and don't worry about watching free RAM, let android doing its own thing with memory management, it works very well. Back in the earlier days with phones with less resources and earlier versions of android, task killers helped, but that really is no longer the case.
