Root Help on a possible 2.2 port from a vortex

Hey guys I have an lg vortex its not active but whaetever I can do to try to help out on a port for 2.2 I would be more then happy, in another threa someone said they talked to an lg rep in a chat that said they are working on an ally 2.2 since the vortex is out but I am not going to hold my breath! Shoot me a pm and let me know what we might need and I can get to work on it thanks guys.

I played with the Vortex some at the VZ store and I tried going to Market to see if I could Download Flash 10.1
It gave me more Flash options than the Ally but no true Flash 10.1 Download.

My conclusion thus far was that somehow they have blocked that phone from being able to download it. I guess because the processor "cant handle it"

I did however check the OS and it definately said Android 2.2 So it is some version of Froyo.

Flash isn't supported by the arm v6 architecture. which is what is in the ally/vortex processor

Ok well what about the Iphone that has the hacked app called frash.
What this does is allows you to watch the flash after it has been downlowaded to the phone. Similar to a regular video.

Obviously this has its limitations.... But it is still cool. Could we maybe get some kind of app that would do this?

I do know that Frash originally came from Froyo and was ported to the Iphone.

Man All I want to do is watch my Strong Bad Email on the go.
Is that too much to ask..... LOL

Stupid flash

On topic, anyone working on getting a port? I know drellisdee had a working 2.2 kernel, seems like this phone could provide the missing pieces? Just curious if anyone has begun giving it a shot.

The Vortex is an mdpi device. The Ally is an hdpi device. Porting the ROM over wouldn't work correctly. As for a kernel, once they release source there MAY be some hope. Just don't hold your breath.

yeah I realised it only works sometimes after playing with it for a bit... I guess I was just initially very excited when I went to NVidia's home page and the flash animations actually worked... sorry about that!!

No reason to be sorry

Were all learning here.
Looking back.... what I said sounds pretty harsh.
I should be the one that says Sorry.:)
