600,000 Galaxy Tab sold so far.

I'm over at Engadget commenting on the same headline. The Apple fanboys are cying foul and BS. They say the figures are fabricated. I gave a shout out to our site, maybe we can get some more members over here. A lot of people are commenting that they have purchased one. One guy said he has three in his house alone.

Well in their defense. There was the same hoopla with the number of Galaxy S phone sold too.

A few months back, some blogs misinterpreted what an official said and it ended being clarified as "shipped" to carriers instead of "sold." I don't have the direct link but I think you can google it. It was over number of Galaxy S phone "shipped." which meant, shipped to the carriers;ready to be sold to end-users. If you google the original text of what the official said in Korea, it was later affirmed.

That 600K number, once again, can be number of units shipped to carriers all over the world. Now, if they're sitting in warehouses, it makes the claim irrelevant.

Note, this article said the Galaxy Tab "shipments"

http://phonereport.info/samsung-galaxy-tab-aims-for-millionth-shipment/

Since mid-October, the electronics giant has shipped a confirmed 600 000 Galaxy Tab units, 30 000 of them being in its home country South Korea since its launch there a week ago.

There could be a translation issue with the Koreaherald.
