I hear you. I was rooted as well and had to un-root, which is always a hassle. Sigh.

Anyway, to unroot depends on how you rooted. If you have unrevoked with S-OFF, run the S-ON tool first. Then apply the 2.2 RUU, whcih WILL wipe your phone. You'll probably then have to do a factory reset in order to get the Nov update, and remove any clockwork folders from your SD card. Hassle, I know.

OP,
Any reason you wouldn't want to load a "stock" ROM that includes the OTA contents? One of the main benefits of rooting in the first place is that we get all this stuff before mainstream users. Things get leaked...the devs use the source info to make ROMS...we get it first.

I don't understand why so many people decide to go the unroot/OTA/reroot route when it's sooooooo much easier to always stay rooted and flash your way through the updates.

i would do this but i am not that smart and plus the only benefit i got form the root was set cpu (cuz i am not proficient in flashing roms and all that i dont wanna take that much of a chance)

That's his point, it's easier to flash a rooted rom of the update, than to go through the process of unrooting, downloading the OTA, and rooting again. 1 step vs 3. Plenty of people here to help if you need it.

I followed the link Virtuous ROM: Other Releases and when I go to the step to check the box for wiping data n cache n the other option I checked both, my phone rebooted, then just sat at the white Incredible screen or 20 min, I tried again and it did the same thing, what am I doing wrong?

you need the clockworkmod for the SLCD screen. I had the same problem. here is the link.

all you have to do is download ROM MANAGER and titanium backup. with rom manager you can install the Virtuous Rom that has the OTA update included in it, and not have to worry about that damn annoying update reminder... ive had virtuous since i first rooted and have never once received the OTA update reminder.

Virtuous doesn't have the updates. Virtuous 3.2 is using the kernel from the September leak, which is the same as the November OTA. However, it's using the same apps from the August OTA. Some of these apps had annoying bugs that were fixed in the November OTA.

Anyway, here's some stock ROMs based on the entire November OTA, not just the kernel.

[ROM] HTC Droid Incredible Stock ROMs (NOV OTA) - xda-developers

I'm going to update Virtuous this week to include those updated Sense apps and bug fixes, and also make it use the edify scripting for CWM 3.x compatibility.
