omfg getting my droid today!

countdown to droid in less than 6 hours!! verizon store opens at 8am. i will be waiting for them to open the doors. get my droid, and im bringing my list of tons of apps and things i need to do (settings, etc) right off the bat. been reading these forums for like a month or so and ive been going nuts!!

cant wait to get rid of this piece of shit blackberry curve so i can finally have an amazing web browser, not have the facebook app lag the phone to death and i will not miss having to do battery pulls at least once a day.

just big up to everybody on this forums for all their useful info and willingness to share what they've learned. been a huge help in preparing me for this phone! im soo excited, i might not sleep.

definitely will do an update when i get the phone via the phone right in the parking lot when i get it lol

Congrats to OP. I was thinking I would get mine today, but it had to be approved and is coming tomorrow. I bought my wife the Eris on Sunday and yesterday I saw a "Buy droid, get Eris free" on the website. I called on a whim and they matched the offer, so I got my droid for $50 (I had already spent $100 on the Eris). I also had to get my NE2 moved up to 12/15 from 1/6/2010, which VZW wasn't keen on doing in November when I called. Glad it all worked out now; can't wait for tomorrow.

Been searching like crazy, i knew i saw it somewhere but i cant seem to find it. i download handsent sms and i didnt set the "default" sms app. the notification no longer appears and inside the "application" setting screen i cant clear the default. i want to set the stock messaging icon to use handsent.

If you go to handcent and pretend you are going to send a message to someone (or actually send a message to someone), it should bring up the box to decide which program you want to use. Check the default box at the bottom and then check handcent.

ok thanks barbara.

also is there a way to remove the "power strip" or reduce what icons are down there?

You should be able to remove anything by pressing on it and holding, then drag it to that tab at the bottom. The tab will turn into a trash can and you can "throw it away". You can always get it back by pressing in any open space on your open screen. A menu comes up and you can choose widget. Then you can re-add the power strip.

You can also move things around by pressing until it sort of vibrates and then drag it to a new spot.

Yea i saw how to do it. ive been taking some stuff off, trying to get the date and time off also down at the bottom.

Trying to also see how to stop it from allowing me to cycle all the way through the screens. i have it set to 3 screens, when i go far right i want it to stop so i cant spill over to the far left again. its making my wallpapers all effed up lol

nvm found that too..

im so excited, im skipping over menus and shit lol.

now i just gotta figure out how to get handcent to stop popping up my texts unless my phone is locked or the screen is off
