Root flash back to 2.1

The screen lag is kind of driving me nuts in 2.2 and I'm thinking about going back to 2.1 for a while to see if i miss the updates in 2.2 enough to live with the homescreen lag.

I've installed LauncherPro and the screen redraws are better, but still happen enough to annoy me.

I'm not sure if i use flash too much, but i know i need 2.2 for it. But what about the updates to gmail, youtube, etc? Do those show in the market if I'm on 2.1?

Also, I didn't root until 2.2 so I don't have a backup of my 2.1. Is there a simpler way to flash back to 2.1 without using RSD? The link I found to an image for 2.1 to flash no longer works.

What ROMs and Kernels are you using, or have used?

I have been using UD 2.1.0 and it is amazing! I also have heard great things about CM and BB.

Otherwise, you could try Pete's site (I'll look for a link, I can't remember it off the top of my head) and see if he still has rooted 2.1's.

Thanks. I'm running BB 0.5 now, with the whatever kernal it comes with. I haven't tried changing kernals, as I understand the screen redraw issue is really an OS vs memory issue.

I just wiped today and am trying BBv0.5 without launcher pro and just keeping a few icons on the homescreen and see how it goes for a few days.

I'll check Pete's site for a 2.1 image after i try this for a few days.
