i use FxCamera alot. i love the toy camera and symmetrical camera modes. i also use the daily dilbert app to pass by 1st period physics. the metal detector app is a good party trick too .

Rings Extended and ChompSMS work great! Now I can have differents sounds for text messages from different people. One thing that was driving me crazy. Got to have Guns and Roses Sweet Child O Mine notification for the kids!! Love this phone!! Love this forum! Thank you everyone for your time and knowledge. Ya'll rock!!

Thanks for the list of must have apps. However, lots of people post what they call the app, not necessarily the actual name of the app. When we search for the app listed it says it does not exist. Pleas post the actual Market Place name of the app so others are able to find it in the Market Place.

Ok since the update to ChompSMS I can't get it to work. Have uninstalled and reinstalled more times than I can count. Every time I hit send button it force stops. Sucks. Maybe they will have new update that will fix it.

ChomSms is doing the same thing to me as well but only for Verizon numbers. When I text someone thats on a different network it goes through..... I had to download Handcent to send out texts and its working flawlessly...... I am liking Handcent more and more

Mine is working. No problems sending to VZ or others yet. Do you have to reboot your phone after setting the chompSMS to default?

I wouldnt call it "must have", but I came across a very handy app ... aFile Lite 1.2.0 by mAPPin Inc. Formerly known as Discover.

It allows you to transfer files to and from your phone using the WiFi in your phone. The only downfall thus far is having to restart the phone to use the files.

Does anyone know how to reload or mount/unmount the SD card without hooking it up to a PC? This program would be perfect if you could move the file over and it would show up right away.

Menu -> Settings -> SD card & phone storage -> Unmount SD card

But um...I don't know how to mount the card once you do that. Probably have to either hook it up to the computer, or physically take out the card and then put the card back in. Doh...

Edit: Yeah, I took off the battery cover and took out the microSD and put it back in. It mounted automatically. Pain in the... though.

I just noticed there's a space to the right of the camera that should be where the flash is! Dang it...I wish they had kept the flash in there, instead of skimpin' out like that...

my current favorite app has to be gmote! it is a remote on your phone to open things on your computer such as music movies and internet. You need a computer that can use internet on a wireless network otherwise it won't work but it is fun to randomly turn music on from anywhere in your house.

Ok, so now it is a must have. Using your WiFi connection you can transfer files from your computer to your Eris or from your Eris to your computer using aFile. If you move the files to your Eris, you then need to run SCrescan so the Eris can find the files. This is so much easier than using the USB connector.

A lot of these apps on here I use everyday! But for me, an app that is a must have is "Screebl", free and works perfectly. This app uses the accelorometer to prevent your phone from sleeping while you are using it. I suggest you check this app out, once you install it you almost forget it is there. But if you ever uninstall it you will want it back ASAP!!!
