Help Screen experiencing burn-in due to battery charged prompt

I'm noticing a bit of screen burn-in on my Fascinate, after having it for about 2 and a half monthes. What is burning in is the prompt that appears when my battery is done charging when I plug it in at night. For some reason, when this prompt appears, the screen won't timeout and turn off again, thus keeping the display on for hours after a charge is complete and burning that display in. Currently, it's a very dim burn-in that is only noticable on a completely white background, but it's frustrating nonetheless (and I assume irreversible.... please correct me if i am wrong though...).

So, i guess my questions are...

Is there a setting that will force my display to time-out when plugged in? I haven't messed with too many of the default settings, so I assume this is default behavior of the phone to keep the display on when charging is complete.

If not, is there a way around this, without rooting, that will protect my phone's screen from burning in, when this message appears?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Here is a trick posted in another forum on how to disable the battery full pop up window.

One of these menus is used to turn off the full battery pop up, so that it won't pop up on you.

Thanks. In digging around in the phone's settings, I found the setting that was making the phone's display stay on when plugged in. It was located under Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Stay Awake. Tried plugging it in and charging it up and the display turns off in a few seconds after the prompt pops up. Seems like kind of a ridiculously buried place to have that setting located, and a bad one to have defaulted to ON on the phone.

I looked around to see if anyone else was having issues with burn-in on the samsung super amoled phones, and it looks like there's a number of people who are seeing similar issues with the notification bar, or even worse when plugged into the dock and showing the desk cradle docking image. Kind of unfortunate that its happening after such a short time. I'm going to work with it and see if it gets better or if i can just learn to tolerate it, but I am tempted to take it to Verizon.

Anyone know if Verizon would take an issue like this seriously and replace the phone or if i would be wasting my time trying?

FYI, even if you screen is turned off while charging, that battery full icon will still pop up and remain on your screen until you manually clear it, so if you already have partial burn in of that pop-up, i'd disable the pop-up in addition to turning off Stay Awake.

I dont think Vrz would take issue on you for trying to exchange. The screen has burn in which techncally is a damaged screen. I would give them a call. Tell them what has happened and see what they can do. I bet you can get a new or refurb out of it. Vzw is really good at trying to satisfy customers.
