Help [Q] What annoying issues wll the Froyo update fix?

Well, I'm running JH7, and am having some issues. I'm just curious to anyone who has upgraded to leaked Froyo if any of these stupid problems have been fixed. I'm sorry if this is somewhere in a changelog thread, I couldn't find it!

1) Spontaneous shutdowns - Yeah... It's pretty effing annoying to wonder if my phone is gonna wake me up, or if I'll miss an important call because it decided to turn itself off.

2) Randomly changing voicemail/calendar notification tones - Just for fun, my phone decides to change the tone it will use. I'd like to be able to pick my calendar notification noises, too.

3) Emails double sending, and putting the same email address in the "to:" field 4-6 times - This one may need more explaining from me. Let me know if it does.

4) Calendar loses appointments - This one is awesome. I *may* have made the appointment in my phone so I wouldn't have to remember it on my own, but it's cool when meetings disappear. Unless it makes me look bad. And it does.

5) Exchange support sucks - Losing all my emails and the exchange account? Good stuff.

If the leaked version fixes any of these issues, I'm excited. If it fixes all of them, I'm ecstatic.

Randon shutdowns is killing me. Even the replacement phone sent by AT&T is acting in the same way. So I too wanted to know if this issue is fixed in froyo or else I will exchange it to HTC.

if that is true, I will be the happiest person in this world. Really I love this phone but only becoz of that stupid random shutdown issue I want to exchange it. If really there is an update going to release addressing this issue then I will surely keep this phone and wait for that update.

Users may or may not find a random shutdown fix in Froyo. We'll know when we know. In the meanwhile, for your homework assignment I'd like you to try this:

If you're using LauncherPro, uninstall it. Before any readers get too excited, I've stated that some devices (including mine) are prone to shutdowns merely via the use of LP. Others have validated this suspicion.

Set the screen timeout to 30 minutes and never let the phone go to sleep on its own. Always use the power button to put it to sleep and wake it up.

Lastly, uncheck power saving mode.

Let us know if these mods work for you.

I didnot install launcherpro at all...I did put the screen timeout to 30 mins and iam putting the phone to sleep myself, even then also it is turning off. I did not install any ATK and I did hard reset several times.

When I complained to AT&T, they have sent me a replacement phone and u know what, even the new phone also having the same problem, shutting down randomly. i am going crazy and I dont know what to do.

can u suggest me anything?

Exchange the phone. It's that simple. Random shutdowns are not universal, so it's the luck of the draw as to whether your new device will exhibit the same symptom.

yeah I will do that only....if that 3rd phone also behaves like this then i will defnitely switch to htc or sony.

Nice, I'll give those display settings a go! I really hope it works, I love this phone, except for these few annoyances. Can't wait for the update that will fix some of this stuff!
