Bad Videos on Droid (see one here)

Edit by MOD: removed unnecessary rude post .

I haven't used my vid camera, so I can't comment on that. However, the OP didn't seem like a complaint to me, but rather an inquiry to see why it was happening, with the idea of finding a solution.

Your post is . . . worse than useless. I am beginning to realize why the mods have been so very vigilant on this board.

So, to the mods, please feel free to delete my post, but I do ask that you delete Bruceo's as well, and otherwise, good job in a thank less position.

I saw you asked earlier about controlling your music with a Bluetooth headset... Remember you bought a phone, not an iPod.

As for the OP's question, I've seen the same exact thing. I've done about 10 short videos, and they've all had skips and glitches. The audio is out of sync on playback as well.

Keep your post to the subject not directed toward a person.

This is crazy to have to edit so many post and give a person an infraction ... which can lead to a banning from the Site.

I was just replying to square in the exact same manner that he has replied to others. Please click his name and view his posts. What about this particular post is any different or even disrespectful for that matter? Several replies to me have also said "I bought a phone not a camera" If you applied the same infraction points to each one of his similar posts he would have been banned multiple times as well as a few others. Did you give infractions to the multiple times I was called a douchebag for giving my honest opinion based on facts? THX for the fairness

@bruceo Maybe it's because you have a history of posting disrespectful posts all over the forum, in particular, against people who own DROIDs? IMO, it's a long time coming bruceo. And facts don't mean your personal experiences applied to the whole. You've had two DROIDs, both duds. And they've affected your objectivity. Others have chimed in to refute your notions.

@OP I've not had the problem recording any videos whether in good or not so good lighting. However, I've also been very careful, 1) To not record while I have other functions that might be memory hogs, 2) If you're low on batteries, it's been known (not just for DROID, but for any phone) to have redirect power usage which might affect camera functionality since it's a power drainer. So, in reviewing your situation, I'd ask those two questions: 1) What apps may have been currently running or drawing memory? 2) What was your battery life situation when filming?

If those two things are good, see if you can't replicate the problem. If so, it might be your phone, but I doubt it. It was likely a unique event during that recording. What apps might you have running in the background concurrently?

You're kidding me right? The only time I recall making anything remotely disrespectful would be in response to a post that was much more disrespectful to me.

Probably 90% of what I posted I guarantee exists on your unit. All if not almost all are well documented and sourced on google's developer forums. PM me where you live. If it is anywhere close to me I would love to have a meetup and do a video demonstration on your Droid to prove that I was the only one with those problems.

Should it matter? The device supports multitasking. If the camera app requires full processor to record reliably then memory management should shut down all background processes until the main process is finished. This is usually the excuse people make for these kind of errors but I would imagine the OP would not have been running pandora or some other proc intensive app anyway even though the OS should be decent enough to know to stop it anyway.

wow.. just getting back after a busy day.. I guessed I missed some 'excitement'..

Although I agree that one would hope with this 'multi-tasking' phone it shouldn't matter what programs are running, I will shut other programs down and see if that consistently provides the difference.

I was somewhat glad that it's not 'just my phone' as others have indicated they are having the problem also... This could mean a software update could repair the problem for all of us.. One more thing, I don't recall having this problem BEFORE the last update.

Thanks all, I am enjoying the heck out of this phone-camera-video recorder-gps-pda-flashlight-alarm clock-calculator-pocket photo album-mp3 player-stopwatch-timer-barcode scanner-thing they call the Droid.

Wow what the hell..

Hey let me tell you what I did with my Droid today.

I hooked it into my car mount that just came in the mail, because I use it for GPS, traffic scanner, and police scanner. I then proceeded to play Droidlive over my whole system, I got a call in the middle and answered with my bluetooth, then my buddy wanted to listen to some Eminem but I didn't put any on the phone itself, so I f'n went online to my Orb site, and streamed my Eminem to my phone in my car, which went through my whole system.

All the while the GPS was telling us where to go.

Yeah horrible phone, just terrible.

This doesnt change the fact that there could still be a software issue with the camera function. The phone is great but like most pieces of technology it has some faults, no need to go all crazy trying to defend it. Nothing is perfect.

I've been having some new problems since I installed the update...my Gallery icon no longer links to my media...I get a message that it's not installed...I have to go into the Applications folder and launch it from there...I'm unable to trash the desktop icon and replace it with a new icon from the folder...WTF!
Also my video program seems totally messed up...it randomly records for a couple of seconds or for as long as I want it to...same thing on replay...it was working fine before the update...any suggestions?
