New Game: Droid Invaders 3D

Hello all,
yesterday I released my new Android Game Droid Invaders 3D Beta to the Android Market.
As the name states, it is a Space-Invaders-like 3D game which is still in beta state. Currently, a classic mode and a glogal leaderboard are available.
Because the game is still in beta, I would be glad if you could try it and give me some feedback afterwards, especially about the things you didn't like and about new features you could imagine. If you like it, please consider a rating.

As you can already see in the beta version, there will soon be another gaming mode called Galaxy Defense. In this mode you will have to defend your galaxy against the invading aliens. While growing better and better you will unlock different ships and weapons until you will finaly be able to defend your galaxy against the dangerous invaders.

A release note including some screenshots is available here.

Thank you all in advance

hi bigbadwulff,

the shooting rate is based on the original space invaders in which it was only possible to have one shot on the field at a time. nonetheless, in the upcomming droid defense mode, there will be a ship wich is possible to shoot twice as fast. I will inform you as soon as I release this update.
Thank you for the feedback,
Johannes

want to see screenshots or pictures...

There is some. Just read the initial post and you will see the link....

EDIT: Just tried it on my vibrant aka the galaxy S and it locks up and I had to pull the battery out to fix it. Also noticed someone else in a comment on the market with the same problem.

Hi CptGemini,

thank you for your comment. Does this lock up happen when the game is being started?

Regards
Johannes

Ok heres how it went down (i was too tired last night to update my post). I started the game up it went through the menus just fine and dandy and when I went to click on a dificulty under the classic invaders one is it when it started to freeze up. The image started to slide over into the left side of the screen (idk if thats what it was supposed to do) then froze up there, I waited a few seconds to see what would happen then after that it was heavy graphics corruption. I actually did not pull the battery out to fix the issue with getting it to close. After a while I did notice it running but it was with extreme graphics corruption.

Thats pretty much how it happened for me lol. I still have it installed and I can probably get a lil video of it with my webcam if need be.

Wow, 8MB? This better be good.
This is going to come across as rude and mean-spirited, but stop whining and get a better phone if 8 MB is too much of a crunch on your phone. Or delete some of your apps that you don't use (and don't go telling me that you use every one of your downloaded apps every day, because you don't...nobody does) to free up some space to give it a shot.

Are you taking Bad Logics example engine game and passing it off as your own work?

What can libgdx do for you? – Badlogic Games

You could at least mention Bad Logic's website! :)

Hello Yossarian4,
thank you for your message.
Yes, this game is indeed heavily based on a (German) tutorial on Android game development Mario Zechner wrote. That's why he is mentioned in the game's credits and in the Android Market description. For any of you who wished the tutorial was in english, there are also good news: Mario released a book, Beginning Android Games. It's really worth it, so when you are interested in Android game development, give it a try.

Thanks again.
Johannes
