Can Droid X Do NetFlix and Hulu?

So I have the LG Ally I Love it but I also am unhappy because I cant do Flash 10.1 like yall can.

I was considering going over to the Droid X.
Does it have the ability to do Netflix right there on the phone?
Also can you Hulu directly from the phone?

Was just curious. The only thing I think I would miss about the Ally is the slide out Keyboard. I am not fond of virtual keyboards.

Nope.... Hulu, in a completely head-up-ass decision, decided to block mobiles (someone there needs to be replaced) unfortunately with netflix, it requires a software program by microsoft called silverlight, so it won't work either.

Currently, there is no official android app from Hulu or Netflix, but both are working on one. And I would encourage you to play around with the X's keyboard; both swype and the multi-touch are incredible and convinced me to switch from the D2.

Well My Ally is so deeply rooted and customized its not even funny.
Sooo I am no Stranger to that.

What about this Microsoft silver light thingy. Its a program? I wonder why that cant be hacked so you could use it on the X and then do Netflix with a rooted Droid X.

Also this Hacked Hulu for Rooted X.... It allows you to watch Hulu on the phone? I wonder if that could ever be available for the Ally. We have gotten the Ally up to 8.9 Mflops after overclock.

One more thing Are you guys able to use Getitnowmarketing's Recovery back up system instead of just ClockWork mod? see link below.

I think Netflix said they will have an app ready for Android around Q1 2011. I'll look for the article once I get some work done!

wonder if the ally will be one of those "select" android devices. I doubt it.

Yeah, well.. I hate to throw water on fire, but it doesn't work on a my phone and a lot of others' phones. Sorry.

This would not work on my phone the first time either. I found that I had to go back in and set my browser back to desktop as a last step as well (from what was in the steps to make this work) once I did this I could watch hulu on the browser with no problems.

In order to get the hulu app to work I had to reboot my phone but once I did that the app works better than going to the website.

This is the second time I have seen this. I don't know how true it is as I also here it will be tied to an OS update. IE 2.3

Just like when netflix switched to silverlight you had to have patches for XP and IE8. It was embedded into the operation software. (just like the Xbox live updates, and the PS3 and WII updates)

I doubt netflix would alienate so many android users, but they are tied to microsoft's hip pretty well.

In the thread over in the rooted section there is a link to thread at My DroidWorld that has a Hulu Player Widget, which is really an app that launched the web site for Hulu in an easier to use format.
