Hey guys. Been several months since I've been on the forums.
Figured I'd post my latest holiday theme for you to enjoy.

For the Droid X ONLY!
Only made for the stock ROM.
Must be rooted, deodexed and have bootstrapper installed to use.

Theme file download: REMEMBER...FOR DROID X ONLY!!!!

DF_HOLIDAY_THEME.zip

First up, the custom boot animation I made:

Animated preview can be seen here:

Next, screen shots of the theme:

Elements of the phone that have been modified:

Code:
*/system/app/Settings.apk (app icon and menu icons)
*/system/app/GenieWidget.apk  (for widget)
*/system/app/Music.apk  (for widget)
*/system/app/BlurHome.apk  (soley for wallpapers)
*/system/app/com.quoord.tapatalkdrodiforums.activity-1.apk (icon change only)

Heavy modifications:
*/system/framework/framework-res.apk
--------Some elements are difficult to capture such as the "loading" spinner,
but you will see a snowflake used as the "loading" icon. Other various edits have been made but you'll have to find them.
*/system/framework/services.jar (text color changes)

Finally, the Launcher Pro dock background. This file gets installed directly to your SD card (included in the theme, no need to put on your SD card separately). If you use LP, simply add it as your background for the dock.

To install my theme:
1. Download the theme file and place on your SD card.
2. Open Droid X Bootstrapper: Press Bootstrap Recovery, wait for success. Then Reboot Recovery.
3. From recovery mene, select "install zip from sdcard"
4. Select "choose zip from sdcard"
5. Navigate to "DF_Holiday_Theme.zip" and select.
6. Let the file install.
7. Reboot your phone. May take a few moments because services.jar needs to make some changes to text colors.
8. Most importantly, ENJOY!

Remember, this is for the stock 2.2 OTA ROM ONLY. No custom ROMs are supported with this theme.

I hope you enjoy my theme and have a Happy Holidays!

Edit:
Anyone, feel free to use this theme for your custom ROM and/or different device. Please be kind to link back to this thread so they can see it is okay with me, and that a little bit of credit be given :)

I restored my stock 2.2 Nandroid but after an hour my apps still hadn't downloaded and when I would go to them on the market and cancel them to redownload them it would force close. First time I've had a problem with the market. I restored back to ApeX, maybe i'll try this theme on ApeX later, so far all of the stock 2.2 themes I've tried have worked on ApeX.

Thanks for the comments guys! Someone else had an issue with apps not installing. They ended up wiping the /data partition and that worked for them. And one other cleared data in the market and all went well.
As a general rule of thumb, I always wipe data and cache before I install a theme. Just to make sure nothing gets corrupt somewhere along the way.
The X seems to handle data better on 2.2 than on 2.1 (especially the way the D1 use to get messed up a lot too)
I'm not planning on offering support per'se, but if anyone runs into any serious issues, please let me know :)

you can link to another forum, for pete's sake! ;) That's not considered advertising. I link to other forums that have themes and roms all the time. As long as it's not advertising. You're cool.

EDIT: I'm trying it... I'm at the animated bootloader. I must say, it's nice! I didn't wipe data so everything's (widgets) are the same. I must say, I like it..

KUDOS to the DEV!!!!!!

Note:

This theme works fine with Apex 1.0.2.2. It does, however, negate transition animations. I applied "fold" transition animations, using metamorph and I have transition animations back.

All in all, nice. Very nice. Kudos to the dev. :)
