Well I bought this phone because my Captivate screen cracked after 6 months of having it. I didn't even know how it got cracked! Anyways, I called AT&T and they were so rude to me that I instant canceled my contract. After 6 years of loyalty they should have been nicer.

I don't like to bad talk other services, but AT&T and Tmobile both left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and I will never go back. I am glad sprint has caught up in the cool phone department, cause they have been good to me for about 5 years now. Sprint is famously cheap when it comes to replacing phones though, however I have learned not to go through the stores anymore, I just send it back to sprint directly. I don't see myself having as many problems though since I got rid of the blackberry. Stupid roller ball was a horrible idea.

Good deals. Too bad it's only for new subscribers.

I just got a Captivate. It's a nice phone. I really like it. It's rooted running Cognitive Froyo.

The Epic is a great phone too. Hell I also love my Evo.

All these phones rock. :)

I got a great upgrade price from Wirefly for my wife for Christmas yesterday. I have an EVO and was leaning that way for her as well, but on Cyber Monday I guess they dropped the price on the Epic to $149 w/contract extension. She wanted the keyboard and I thought it would be cool to have an Epic to play with/compare to my EVO (which I love) and the price was right.

On a side note, her upgrade eligibility from Sprint starts tomorrow so I told the sales person to hold the order until then (they stated that they would do that on the online eligibility check), but apparently they submitted the order to Sprint right away and it was declined, so I saw order canceled when I checked it this morning. I called them up right away and the helpful customer service rep resubmitted it with a hold on the order until tomorrow and also made sure I was locked in at the $149.99 price. Needless to say I am very happy with the customer service so far, hopefully I will feel the same way once the transaction is completed.

I called to make sure my order was resubmitted today and just got this email:

Great news! Your order has been approved by Sprint and is now being picked and prepared for shipment.
It looks like all is well and I think I got a great deal. I haven't seen the Epic for less then $179 for existing customers since I ordered this one. Although it looks like Wirefly is still showing $169 with contract extension, so that might still be the best price out there. Also the activation was just $18 which seems like less then what I paid for my EVO activation.

I am a sprint premier customer so I can get a new phone every year even though I'm on a 2 year contract. If you get the wirefly deal, I'm pretty sure your two year contract must be finished even though you can upgrade phones after 1 year.

This is not an issue with Best Buy.

I'm not following what you are saying. So you mean even though I am a premier customer as well, when I buy a phone through Wirefly I cannot upgrade in a year? My understanding is that I can still upgrade after a year but I have to renew my 2 year contract. That I can deal with.

Please clarify what you mean.

No you'll be fine. Wirefly only cares if you cancel your plan or remove your data plan within 6 months.

You won't be doing either, so you're covered.
