Righty, I'm running LeeDrOiD 2.2f and keen to install AlphaRev 1.5 on my phone in order to give me more options with S-OFF and would like some guidance on how to do this. Ok, I know there is a school of thought that runs "if you need to ask, you shouldn't do it" but I tend to think if you don't ask you can't learn.

Reading the AlphaRev site as I have, the instructions run as follows:

Name/system/cache/dataMD5SUMDownload Bravo Stock 1.5258M41M152M2092edb4aa79638199e3165a99896b0fbravo_alphaspl.img Bravo N1Table149M98M203M1ade7f845c31a6abb2e4b5c34851b685bravo_alphaspl-n1table.img Bravo Data++180M10M261Mb0efbe061011445ab5e94a63d5cb2fafbravo_alphaspl-data.img Bravo Sense180M90M181M9346c72901cadd03f6cdcf4f95266dccbravo_alphaspl-sense.img

1) Nandroid backup in recovery.
2) Verify the MD5SUM of the file you downloaded against the one in the table.
3) Flash HBOOT with your phone in fastboot mode (Back+POWER) -> 'fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img' (change into the correct filename for the HBOOT you downloaded)
4) 'Fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'Fastboot erase cache'
6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore.

I've run a Nandroid back-up.

Firstly, how do I know which .img file to download?
Secondly, where on my phone / SD card to I download the .img file to? Danfrance has already mentioned that it's a loadable CD, but what does this mean?

For what it's worth, I've run the bootloader and have the following HBOOT setup:

BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-031D
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27

Sorry for all the noob - and potentially dangerous questions, but as I said, if I don't ask...

youre looking too far into it. You just need to download the download at the top of the page, burn it to disk, boot from it and follow the instructions.

Sorry Dan, I'm really having a dumb afternoon. So I download the file onto my PC, burn the file onto a CD, and then boot the phone up from the CD? Really sorry for being an arse, but how do I do that?

no its even simpler than that

keep your phone booted (must be rooted) but not connected to the pc
download iso and burn to cd
keep CD in pc once burned
shutdown and power on, hammer delete till you get to bios
make sure you set the boot priority to have cd/dvd before hdd
restart
it will prompt you to connect device.
connect it
make a brew

Slightly bizarre... My PC is a Compaq running Windows 7. Whenever I start up it shows teh initial boot screen with various key options, but regardless what I hit it always ends up booting up Windows. I've been hammering DEL and ESC to no avail. Any ideas folks?

Out of interest, it boots straight to Windows with the AlphaRev CD in it? If not, try it with as most PCs are set to boot from CD first (if present) by default

Other possibility is you've not actually burnt the ISO correctly and have just created a data CD with the ISO file on it

Yup, straight to Windows with the CD in it.

To be honest, I suspect you're spot on Eddy. I downloaded Alpha.iso to my harddisk, then copied it to a blank CD I popped into the drive. Sorry for being dense, but how should I have done this?

What version of Windows are you using? If it's Windows 7 just double-click the ISO and it will ask for a CD to burn the ISO image and make it a bootable CD

Anything else, try this:

MagicISO - Burn ISO, BIN, NRG

Or use Nero
