Root [ROM] Rumm Rx v1.0 - First dose of awesomeness ;)

I didn't see any warning on this rom. Surprising. It is based on 2.2.1. I advise all newbies and intermediatebies that it is possible to perma-brick on this as there is no full sbf. Be forewarned. I'm waiting until the full recovery file comes out. I advise others to do the same, especially if you are relatively new at this.

Looking out for you,
Steven

Yes, thanks Steven. That is what I meant by my 2.3.32 statement. There is a warning that states you must install the new leak prior to installing this ROM. I feel that the warning is a little low on the page since it is after the download for his ROM, but it is there nonetheless. I am with you. I hear a lot of good things about the leak, but I like to have a way to go stock just in case. :)

Ok guys answer me this. If the 2.2.32 is leaked doesn't that mean the update has been written? Why don't they just push the update OTA? If there are problems wouldn't they shown up in the leak by now?

same reason why we all jumped to 2.3.9 when it first came out... then there was 2.3.13, then 2.3.15.... and from what i remember the last two were released very close to eachother, and not everyone was having problems with the first...

there has been a system sbf available, and there is now a recovery partition sbf available. i ruined my recovery partition (because i didnt wipe data) and the new sbf fixed it right up.

*** 2.3.320 ** SBF Recovery Only

this rom isnt really all that unsafe to install. if you follow the directions (including a data wipe) i have yet to see someone who has bricked if they did everything right. and now with the recovery sbf, i dont see much reason not to give it a shot (for relatively experienced users). newbs should still hold off.

Let me just say that this ROM is spectacular. I am very happy with it. Probably the best ROM I have used on the DX to date.

Let me also say that if you follow JRummy's installation instructions this will update your device to the leaked system and bootloader. I guess maybe I have comprehension problems but I did not realize thats what it was doing until it was too late.

There should be a big bold warning on this ROM that states that it updates your device to the leaked 2.2.1 including the bootloader and there is no going back for the time being. DO NOT use any previous SBF's and do not restore any previous backups.

@sund0wn Just want to say I appreciate your support and understanding on the subject. Thank you for your guidance for experienced users and your warning for the newbs.

Sorry GB, didn't mean it :) Actually I tried it.. and came back to ApeX. On my phone ApeX runs really smooth and fast, plus I like ApeX theme a bit better. The only think I'm missing is Rummy's toolbox.

I tried the newest APex (preleak) and it was super fast and smooth for me until I had all my apps re-downloaded and then it was unbearably sluggish. I may have to try it again but the leak version this time.

Thanks for the input.

You know seeing these leak threads and then seeing BinaryVision's thread. Has me waiting for OTA. Assuming we actually get one.

Otherwise I will jump to leak.

But this updated boot loader thing has me slightly concerned. If they constantly update the bootloader (and I suspect MOTO will) then you do have issues returning from leaks or future pending updates.

I installed the 2.3.15 ROM last night and it runs well and has all the useful blur features.

When I flashed back to my stock ROM, the white motorola "M" at startup is still the JRummy droid icon.... How do I get it back to the stock "M"???

Thanks!

You either need to change it with JRummys toolbox before flashing to a new ROM, use a Boot Logo changer from the market, or SBF back to stock. I'm sure there may be a manual way to change it with a Root Explorer but I have never done it personally.

I have to say that I tried this, but have to go back to APEX. I saved a backup just in case, but I really don't like all the blur that is included. Seems fast and all, but missing the calendar app is a big deal breaker for me. APEX is great and Fab does a great job supporting it. I am not saying that jrummy doesn't, but it seems there is a lot lacking after coming from APEX.
