Setting up individual Twitter feeds in the Ticker

Pretty neat!

Actually, I'm still not sure how to get Twitter "Tweets" to show up on the ticker screen. I have the Twitter app installed and can navigate through that very easily, but the tweets I get do not activate the Ticker screen at this time.

When I got into "Ticker Settings" and click on "Social networking" and finally "Twitter", it HAS CHECKED both "Receive All" as well as "Message". Yet nothing comes through on the screen when I get a new tweet.

Weird.

But yeah, once I get this fixed (hopefully with your help?) I would then like to know how to get certain feeds to NOT come through on the Ticker screen. Hehe.

Any help would be great!

If you setup Twitter through the Social Networking menu, it's all or nothing. It should sync with Twitter periodically, which would give me like twenty tweets in rapid fire.

To add your Twitter account. Go to Menu>Settings>Accounts & Sync>Add Account from your home screen.

If you only want to add select people that you are following, you can search for their Twitter username under Menu>Ticker Settings>RSS Feeds>User Added RSS Feeds. Hit the menu key and select search.

I got a few questions for you Weudel :)

First, are you describing two (2) different ways to get Twitter feeds in your post above? Because I'm a bit confused. What I want is for any Tweet by any of my Twitter people I'm following to instantly display on my Ticker screen. Is this possible? How would I do this the best?

Second, my RSS subscriptions are kind of shady. I added "Slickdeals" as an RSS feed, but sometimes it will ping things right away when they are posted to Slickdeals.net, yet other times (like today) it hasn't sent any ticker updates at all. But there are like 15 things it should have sent through to my Ticker screen. Any reason for that?

Lastly, I did try and search for individual people to RSS Subscribe to from Twitter, but most of the time it finds them and just lets me view their info. Only twice did it allow me to "RSS Subscribe" to them. How come? Why won't it let me add RSS to those I search for all the time?

In a nut shell I'm having issues with info that comes across my ticker screen and the infrequency they come across.

I'm kind of lost here so I hope you don't mind holding my hand for a bit :)

Thanks in advance!

My post is for people who want some but not all of their Twitter feeds to show up. If you just setup your Twitter account it will push them all to your phone.

I believe it pulls the feed every half hour, but I could be wrong on the interval and have not found a way to change it.

I'm hoping Samsung will push more options to us soon.

Sorry to be a pest here, do you know why an RSS feed would continue to come through repeatedly?

Also, I think I fixed my Twitter issue. I had Twydroid or whatever it is installed as well and it was confusing me. I believe I uninstalled that and then sync'ed all my Twitter peeps to Contacts and now it seems the Tweets are coming through the Ticker display. So hooray :)

But yeah, I have RSS feeds to Slickdeals.net come through and the same post has come through 4x tonight. You think that could be because the Admin to the site is modifying the post or something? And it keeps feeding me an update after he saves it?

OK, Twitter officially NOT fixed. This is getting rather frustrating. I thought I "uinstalled" Twidroyd but apparently its still operating. And when I get Tweets, some of them don't come accross the ticker screen at all. Some of them do, but they are coming through via Twidroyd app. And then some come accross just perfectly fine like they should, through the real Twitter App I have.

This sucks...rawr.
