Just purchased a Tab-VZW at BB last week. No contract, but $100 off w purchase of MIFI. No big deal on that, family was going to purchase this anyways. Maybe I was hasty as I see that T-Mobile version may come with more internal memory. BB says the one they sell has 16 GB and it came with 16 gb external card, but Verizon's model says it should only have 2GB. So here is the quirk.. So did the one I bought at BB really have both 16GB external and internal?? Where do I find what the GB is on my tab, not sure why to locate this. Went to Settings and then Task Manager, but not sure what to look for. If I find that BB misrepresented, it goes back and I go to TMobile.. Hate to do that since I made so many customize apps, screens.. but I don't want to pay the same price and get less for my money..
Promise my questions to this forum less asinine.

thanks from SC..

Katinsc, I did the exact same thing. I bought the verizon tab only to discover that it only has 2Gb of internal memory and they give you a 16G microsd card for a total of 18G. im all about space as I have a lot of media content. Tmobile's unit has 16G internal plus an empty microsd slot. I took the verizon back got the tmo and added a 32G sdcard...that's 48G total. More than verizons model is capable of.

Any hassles for the return? I can still use the MIFI for my wireless, this should work with the TM Tab. Is there any reason that I should consider to get any plan with TM?
No just need to download everything I have stored now. hate it cause I spent some $$ on apps, and put a screen guard on my device...

Thanks. I guess the reason is I want to get my money's worth. If Tmobile has 16 GG then why pay the same price for 2GB. And also the limitations with the BT. I may not see the need now but may want it in the future

Again, sorry for my ignorance, but I can just buy TM w/o plan and still be able to text/IM with my MIFI? I guess my real question is what can't I do with a TM w/o having a plan. Will there be any apps, ie: messaging IM SMS that I would be limited too? What about the app similiar to VCast for music, TM has something like this?
Sorry for the questions and thanks for your time.

Actually you get more than that with the T-Mobile. All Tabs have 2gb of memory but the T-Mobile has another 16gb of memory. There are two internal drives on the T-Mobile. If someone else has different info let me know.
Ok i have the tmobile one to and it has 2gb internal tablet storage. and internal memory of 16gb and i have a 16gb sd card thats how they break it down.

Where did you find that information on the device? What should I be looking for?

I did go to TM but they confirmed that theirs didn't come with divx certified so I would not be able to view my videos in that format. He was nice, told me that each Galaxy Tab sold to vendors is not complete, there is always something that has been downgraded in each one so that each seller can profit. Depends what your needs are. At the store his was selling for $645, said he had no idea how it can be sold for$599 at TM online.

Go into Setting's and go into Sd card and storage and thats were youll find it.

wait, this is actually true?? they are different versions of the actual hardware between carriers? wtf for? What about ATT and Sprint? Does any one have the full specs comparison per carrier?

Im not much on the ipad. but I can see the benefit of having it essentially be the same device no matter where you get it. from apple to wallmart lol.

thanks. wow. so the hardware is definitely better on Tmobile.... and it already has wifi capability. The VZW just lists CDMA. which maybe explains why they wanted me to use my mifi card for it... wtf! truly prolly the ONE reason I wont get this..

hey I got the new vzw Galaxy Tab... cool, but it only has 2 GBs...
yea but it's on the vzw network... cool, but you need to use mifi... and no wifi...

awesome

VZW supports wifi as well.

The differences between all of the tabs:
VZW and Sprint are CDMA with 2G internal plus 16G SD in the expansion.
Tmobile and ATT are GSM and come with 16G internal plus empty SD slot. Tmoble covers the Europe 3G frequencies.

I went with VZW because of network coverage. ATT, sprint, and Tmobile just do not have the coverage here. Speed is no good if you can't use it.

OK thats a little better news. So I need to call them and se what they say. If I can get a vzw one, use it with my mifi card and wifi Im in. thats what youre saying I can do correct?

not to worries about he space. 2gb onboard, plus a 32gb card is cool with me

So, I was all ready to return my VZX to BB and get one at TM, being Sunday here in the south, retail stores were closed so i went to a kiosk in Sam's. When I explained to him that I had a GT but VZW had 2 GB, issue with BT (keyboard/mouse)..He said.. "stop right there before you go any further, he that proceed to tell me that TM is closing in 2011, I wouldn't go moving to TM with that happening. I even told him that I didn't want a plan, I was going to use my VZW MIFI.. So now I am totally confused and lost... then he said that the more GB the slower your Tab, so 2GB would be good just upgrade the SD card.
He than mentioned something about an apad, that does the same thing as Galaxy, for alot less. Tried to search on that but I saw good/bad, fake, etc. :(.
I only have until Friday to be able to return back to BB.. as it stands now I keep it or not.. hubby wants me to look at ipad but I for me it is too big, like my 7".

Sounds like..

If u want a galaxy on wifi (or mifi card) only then, it doesn't matter where u buy it or which carrier.

Also if this is the case, you get more bang for the buck buying tmobile version bc it has more gb and bluetooth.

So wifi and mifi aside, can either/both/all versions connect online via the carrier's network? If they can, then its a matter of who's network u like.

The guy at Sam's has lost his mind. I am in no way a T-mob fan boy. I have my D! trough VZW. As far as T-Mobile closing in 2011, I live in Chattanooga, TN, we have a T-Mobile call center here that is loading up with as many people as they can. My sister-in-law just got a job there, that is why I got the T-mobile GT with TM in the first place. ($213 off contract) As for the additional memory slowing the Tab down, he really has no clue. The T-Mobile tab has the same 2gb as the VZW version plus a build in SD card. The additional 16gb added to the T-Mobile tab is the exact same as adding a 16gb sd card to the VZW tab.
Also; the VZW tab does not have to work via a MIFI. It comes equipt with a CDMA radio and a wifi radio. If you had purchased a data plan from VZW for your tab you could use it as a MIFI for free with no additional hardware.

Well I just got the Sprint one and noticed the low amount of available space on the device after I got it setup the way I like. This drove me here where I quickly found the out why. (Thank you) I am very disappointed to find out that the device only has 2GB of internal storage.

I have a HTC EVO which has 1 GB of internal memory and I am down to just under 100MB even though I have moved everything I can to SD. The 2GB limit could become an issue eventually since apps will get bigger over time and they all take some amount of internal memory.

Radio Shack had it $50 off the normal non contract price at $450 and TMobile won't match that. I am seriously considering taking the Sprint one back and paying the extra $50 for the TMobile version.
