Help low storage space help & ideas........

Also you can go into Settings> Applications> Manage applications and then go into each in turn and delete the cache. It takes some time the first few times as you go into most but you then learn which ones are taking the most.

I'm rooted so can clear all cache in one click plus I have all my apps on my SD so have about 85 apps with 72mb still spare on my internal memory :)

Think from newer models this will not be so much of an issue as they are putting 1gb of internal memory in but for now the only option to us is to root or do as Lecter said above.

Are there any dangers or pitfalls to rooting though?

There are but they are very very very very very minimal as long as you follow the guides to the letter.

I have never read anywhere of anyone bricking their phone rooting but there is always a chance if you do something wrong. I have insurance on mine so if it did happen I would lose it and get another.

best thing is to start reading into it and then when you come to do it then it will be like second nature and really easy.

Why don't you just look at minimising what you have?

Why are twitter and facebook taking up so much space? You contacts storage is more than double what I have, and i've got about 180 contacts...

Many people, myself included, don't like the idea of minimalism on a smartphone, simply because the idea of the phone is to do everything. Having to remove some things just because you're low on space sort of defeats the purpose.

Rooting and A2SD+ is really the best option for storage issues.

That said, OP, try putting your contacts on the SD card.

People>Menu button>Import/Export

Select export to SD

I've exported to the SD card
How can I unsync Facebook contacts & only sync certain ones, ie only ones with phone numbers - I know there's an option but I cant find it

I don't wanna do the rooting thing

I'm pretty sure that you can go look at the contact of the person you want to "unlink" from facebook, and complete it there. Up in the upper-right hand corner of the screen there is a "link" button. Click it and it will bring up an option to "unlink" that contact from facebook so you no longer get updates from them. Hope that helps.
