What single aspect do you consider the biggest Make or Break feature ?

I know the obvious are Price and Carrier.

I know the next obvious is whether or not subsidized by Google means we will suddenly be forced to have ADs in all our apps/homescreens'phonecalls etc.


I mean physical features.
3.7" has people already claiming fail.
Snapdragon has some people thinking itll be a lightning bolt gem.
Old style trackball has other asking why no optical ?
Lack of KB is great for many...downer for just as many others.
The camera pics look terrible.
No 720P uploaded anywhere so Im thinking it doesnt exist.
Thin = Sexy

So whats your single most desired feature that may make or break a purchase decision for you ?

For me....It will be the gpu/ram and how it handles video and overall Graphics performance. Somethign HTC/Qualcomm has always been behind in. Alot of apps will be pushing 3d features , MultiTouch scaling that is actually Iphone smooth and not G1 choppy, and YT HQ videos being handled with excellence will make this a very nice phone to show off Android and for day to day enjoyment.

Handwriting recognition. I would pay serious cash for any Android phone that does this as well as a Treo, regardless of any other feature.

You didn't mention Google Voice to Text with every app. I'd be nice to dictate text and email! I know there's probably other apps out there that do this, but I was so impresses with Google's voice recognition while trying out the Droid & Eris. It understood a country boy like me.

A web browser that (given a good enough connection) renders quickly and scrolls without stuttering. I returned an Eris because (in my opinion) it failed at this and got a Droid. The browser on the Droid performed acceptably for me until the 2.01 update at which time scrolling on many pages became awful.

I recall when my TouchPro had clipping issues when scrolling the blame was put squarely on the drivers.
Cant say thats factual but these type of rendering issues need to be solved. Love it or hate it even a first gen Iphone/Itouch renders pages and does MT with extreme speed and smoothness.
Has to be more to it than just processor power.

I think in the case of the Moto Droid is it a driver / software issue. As with many other people, my Droid got noticeably slower rendering / scrolling pages with the Dec. 11 OTA.

The iPhone 3GS with almost the same processor smokes the Droid in web browsing. So did the 3G (with slower processor) that I played with the other day.

I don't want an iPhone, I just want the iPhone's browser speed.

I get the impression that the Nexus One may be able to play 720p video, but I've not seen anything even remotely semi-official that mentions being able to record 720p.

Thats ass backwards. But playback is better than no playback.

The Bravo can record 720p, so why shouldn't the N1 be able to?

Hmmm, that does look promising, seeing as how so many of the reported Nexus One specs and features seem to mirror the Bravo. I've not seen anything (from Engadget, FCC, etc...) that specifically mentions that, but it certainly does seem likely now. Thanks for pointing that out!

Separate question, why would multi-touch be a make or break issue for somebody? From the little bit of experience I have playing around with an iPhone, the pinch-and-zoom is nice, but certainly doesn't seem like a critical feature as the plus/minus buttons on the screen do the job fairly well. Perhaps my expectations are just low, coming from a BlackBerry Curve

I believe you are right. I'm hoping Fennec will have MT when it's released. But the default Nexus One browser, no MT.

I feel like this will be the biggest "break" feature of the phone. Lack of multi-touch. It may be available eventually in a 3rd party browser, but it will not in maps, pictures, etc...

I agree. I feel that anyone who wouldn't get this phone because of the lack of multitouch is CRAZY. Most of the time I only use one hand to hold and control everything on my phone anyway. In the browser a double tap works just as good as multitouch. I understand why it would be nice to have in Google Maps though. Still, that is nowhere near a "Make or Break" feature, IMO
