Help Voice mail notifications not showing up on Launcher Pro?

I'm using an stock ROM on my EVO Version 2.2 Software version 3.29, and have installed Launcher Pro (not the trial). For the most part it's pretty cool, but I've noticed a few quirky things with it.

For one, if I set a shortcut to the "Mail" app, I get no notifications unless I manually check the mail, and only then will the number of new items show up as a number on the icon. However, if I set the shortcut to the Gmail account app, I get my audio AND visual notification on the launcher Pro icon (denoted by a number).

I'd like it to be where I'm able to get a notification for both my Gmail and Yahoo accounts simultaneously. Is that possible?

Secondly, I've put a shortcut on the Launcher Pro panel to my voice mail. Stock voicemail, not Google Voice or anything. I have the icon as the default voicemail icon as well. The only notification I get however, is the one on the top notification bar of the phone. But I have Launcher Pro set to hide the notification bar, and would like it to stay hidden.

Is there any way to get the same type of notification for voice mails from the Launcher Pro icon area?

To basically answer both of your questions, Launcherpro supports only three types of notifications in the dock - missed calls, SMS, and gmail. The notifications for things like mail are a sense thing, so don't expect them to work outside of the sense launcher. Launcherpro does not support notifications for voicemail. The reason is that each carrier uses a different app.

Bummer about the voicemail... But I did figure out how to forward my Yahoo mail to my Gmail account for free, (Yahoo is crazy if they think I'm paying to forward mail! ) so that part is taken care of. There has to be a way to get an notification alert in the dock for voicemail.... there just HAS to be !

Ah yes, sorry, I should have suggested just having your yahoo mail forward to gmail. The only "problem" with that is that you won't get your mail immediately. It basically checks for new mail every 40-60 minutes depending on how much mail it retrieved in the previous check.

As far as voicemail is concerned, you should still get the notification (which I think shows the unread count) in the notification bar, but don't quote me on that. Unfortunately, there is no way to get a voicemail unread count in the launcherpro dock. If you'd like to start using google voice instead of regular voicemail, there are a number of ways of getting an unread count icon, but you still can't have it on the dock.

I've been sending test emails out to myself from Gmail to Yahoo, and I'm getting my mail instantaneously, so I'm not sure of where that 40-60 minute check rule comes into play. I also just got an email from the Hotmail team in response to a question, which they sent to Yahoo mail and it was also instantaneous.

As for the voicemail, I'm going to give Youmail a shot and see how that works out. Thanks for the help.

No problem. I'll go and check my sync settings to see if there's anything there at the heart of it. BTW, you do know that you can forward your Yahoo Mail for free simply by switching your home location to Yahoo! Asia. Then you can do POP and email forwarding without having to become a Yahoo "Plus" member.
