Root new to facinate came from droid x

im sure this has been asked tons of times,so bare with me
so far i just have a stock fascinate with root.
i want to try the lag fix ,which is the one that would give the amount of issues and ,will i still get the ota 2.2 and not have to remove the lag fix

Avoid the market lagfix its mostly placebo


After you have installed clockwork recovery check out jts nonvoodoo kernels in rom manager

We have voodoo lagfix kernels but its best to get familiar with this phone and what voodoo is exactly before you flash it.


Voodoo. CAn eat you up if you don't understand it

also you may want to check out jts superclean 0.4 in rom manager...basic rom that strips out a lot of bloat and should help performance a bit

id be on wifi to download it though as its 150mb

Thanks for the advise will that also help with the low signal old Droid x always had 3 to 4 bars now I only get 1to2 bars

its more of a signal reporting issue

granted the signal is better in the x slightly, ive never had issues in making/receiving calls

the leaked dj05 updated fixes signal reporting a bit

Dj05 supposedly helps with it but i havent noticed. Im usually around 2 bars but i be never missed a call or not had service

My setup is fine.

Any links for dj05 files are in irc only. #samsung-fascinate

Again you may want to avoid voodoo until you've gotten a chance to read up on it

With di01 id recommend not using a lagfix and instead using one of jt or geekniks kernels in rom manager for di01

They are clean and lagfree. Really they are better than old overclocked voodoo 2

I was very happy with jts. 11/11 and 11/16 undervolt when still on di01

I ran 11/15 uv and it was good also
