I've already read alot of other threads about this! So, don't say "just search for it" Because i already have done that! :p

I figured i wanted to ask self, just so i know what to do step by step.

anyways, What I want to know is how to change the Lockscreen.

Im sure some of you have used the Music pro player? Either way, when u play a song.. u get a "music control" on the lockscreen, but also the lockscreen is different from the stock desire lockscreen.

So i want something like this: http://www.evolveordie.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/lockscreen.png (without the toggles on top)

And not the stock one that i have : http://noscope.com/photostream/albums/various/HTC_Lockscreen.png

So i wanted to know different ways of gettting this. And i have tried the widget locker. And i didn't like it, because of some reasons.. So i wonder if anyone have a clue about how to get this??

Thanks for all the annswers! :)

!! i have also checked out [THEME] Vanilla Lockscreen NON-Transparent Background [UPDATED: 07/05/2010] - xda-developers But i don't really know if thats up to date or something like that! So i rater ask here! :) !!

In certain circumstances, your actual lock screen would flash up for an instant before wl. Really annoying

that happens on all 3rd party lock screens

the alternative is not to have one and stay with default
its only a split second/
i dont find it that annoting as its only a split second. by the time my hand hits the screen its WL

the change happens if you try and bring up the unlock screen immediately after locking it
2.1 and 2.2 have a 5 second rule

nand backup is nothing to do with it, thats just backing up your rom in its current state.
the lock screen on music player pro seemed perfect but also suffers the same problem where the old lock screen comes up.
you dont notice it as you lock it and leave it locked with music playing then when you unlock it the time has passed so you dont see the stock lock.

having a rooted desire is not enough. you would need to hack the ROM itself and change the lock from within the rom itself
changing the images is easy enough but changing the lock behaviour is something a little more difficult.
I would imagine you could try and pull the lock from a rom build from CM or defrost then try and push it to the ROM you are using
you would need s-off for this and there is no guarantee it would work.
There is very good reason why this is not common and used. if it was simple to do then there wouldnt be all these apps that do it for you

theres lots of reasons to flash custom roms but it depends on your needs entirely

Desire Android Development - xda-developers

look at that forum, read the threads for the various roms
dont question why other people have rooted or call it weird if you dont understand it.

the whole concept of modifying is down to preference and is massive. im not going to sit here and tell you the benefits of custom roms
its for you to find out and play about with, thats why android, rooting and xda-developers is all about

didnt mean to call it wierd. :p just thought... nvm.
anyways. im pretty new with android, and also have i never flashed a custom rom. I have rooted, but if someone ask me how i did it.. i can't answer..

so i just wonder, what custom rom is close to the stock one, with app2sd+ and with the lockscreen i love??
:D

and if i flash a new rom, is there a easy way of upgrade to the cupcake firmware when/if it is released to desire?
