Hey I was reading on sites and trying to get as much info as possible. After a root is done I know about the warrent stuff that u lose which is fine. But I read that sype text will be gone, and flash player will also be gone off the phone. I would like if some one can back up this info please on what's lost after the root is done. Thanks. Also does anyone have a link to rooting on mac? N yes I know about the 2 vids on utube but the .zip file that is needed isn't working for the dl.

When you root, what you have all depends on the ROM. You can find a Swype .apk somewhere around the internet (Check XDA) but you are gonna have a hard time getting flash to work. Other than that, like I said, you would have to check with the ROM developer to see what is and isn't included. There are ROM's that are the stock ROM with root access and superuser enabled. But if your talking about data, well, thats a full wipe of all your installed apps and their respective data (although I think some of it is backed up with your Google account).
Oh, and rooting for Mac? Well I think the process is pretty similar to the process for Windows, except that you have to add something to the front of the command lines... I'll look for it, post back if I find anything out.

Are you rooting to to install 2.2? Or to uninstall stock apps?

If not I suggest looking into z4root which is a soft root app on the market. I use it for the shootme app that requires root access. It works.
