Root Flashing ROM not working

Hello world,
I have a C710H, which up here is known as a Shine Plus, but otherwise is known as the Ally from what I gather. I've successfully rooted it as far as I can tell - I have su permission in terminal - but then ROM Manager fails everytime I try to flash Velocity. More specifically nothing happens at all: I try partitioning the sd card and nothing changes after reboot - I flash ClockworkMod recovery, download Velocity and when prompted to clear cache and backup and then reboot into recovery mode to continue, the phone just boots up normally and nothing has changed.

Also, I've tried every conceivable combo of key presses on power up to access this recovery mode and none of them seem to work on this phone. So, I'm at a loss as to what to do next and hope someone will have an idea.

flash dreseldee's recovery (seems to work a whole lot better for me on the ally) and after flashing reboot into recovery go into wipe and data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and if you said you have a partitioned sd card or a2sd then wipe the ext. its going to be the top 4 when you go into wipe. Then try to reflash velocity .3. I had the same problem but it was from not properly wiping everything before flashing the rom

Have you flashed clockwork mod recovery? and you cant flash velocity from within rom manager must do it via recovery. so after you flash clockwork mod choose reboot recovery and if you have the android sdk fire up an adb shell while you are in recovery go to advanced/mounts and tell it to mount system. then type rm /system/etc/install-recovery.sh that script file is keeping your recovery from sticking. or use root explorer

The Ally recovery image was not made for the shine plus. similar devices not the same. a recovery image is in the works
Just out of curiosity what do the Droid X guys use for there Recovery system besides Clockwork?

When they put Rom Manager on does it give them the option to flash the alternate Recovery 1.2.5?

For that matter does it give that option to all other phones that can use Clockwork Mod as well?

I am just curious because I am sure I wont have the Ally for the rest of my life. LOL However I am pretty sold on Android.

Although that Windows phone could be cool .
The main thing I want my next Smart phone to do is watch Netflix, use flash player.

Basically I want to be able to do everything on my phone that I can the internet from home.

Keep in mind each phone has would have its own version of amon-ra recovery. (Which if i am correct is what drellisdee's is based off of.)

That means our version wont work on other phones and other phones that have there own version from the amon-ra source ported would more than likely have a differnet version number aswell.
