I JUST got a Droid X, where to start?

The android market can be a pain to navigate. Look for apps on sites like these:

AppBrain Android Market - find the best Android Apps and Games
and
AndroLib, Find all the applications and games available in the Android Market for your Android Phone, Droid, Galaxy S etc...

appbrain even has an app in the market along with a fast web install feature that will allow you to initiate a download from you computer.

Check out these threads here:

That last link is to the Root section. In my opinion rooting is what makes Android and the X all it can be. Its definitely a choice you shouldn't make lightly. To root or not to root that is the question!

also a very informative article for reading.

I have had my Droid X for 3 months but am a bit frustrated.

1. My screen sucks and is not as cool as the HTC layout but apparently it's because I am stuck on 2.2 since Verizon won't upgrade it

2. I can't make google calendar synch with my work google apps account (it syncs with email though just fine).

Anyone got any suggestions, I've searched around this forum and the internet with no luck.

Probably need to start a new thread for this instead of jacking this one...but...I would say that I came from an HTC Droid Eris and after I found a custom ROM with a decent theme ( Shed's Froyo ), I liked it and LauncherProPlus better than what HTC had to offer. However, the Moto DX stock actually has quite a bit to offer in the way of widgets and such. A bit clunky at times, but not bad for stock in my opinion.

If you have added the google apps account info in the Settings...Account, I would think it would be syncing fine. Unless you have a seperate google account that you originally setup on the phone??
