Hi,

I've recently bought an HTC desire and i'm using it only with my personal laptop. I'm having difficulties setting up the activesync account, and will get to the part where you select/deselect the options of calendar, contacts etc, and then I get the message "Failed to create the account. Please try again later"

I can easily access emails from gmail, send MMS, access the internet etc

I've performed a factory reset, tried to clear my calendar data (but it wouldn't do it) and have updated to the latest ROM update from HTC. (just some of the suggestions mentioned on other forums)

I can't find the settings page for the permissions check box fix, but i think that this might only be an available option on work computers???

I would be VERY grateful if someone could help. I've read through lots of forums, but they nearly all refer to work exchange servers, rather than trying to get it to work on a personal computer.

Cheers,
Sarah

I get the same problem.

I'm able to go through the wizard on the phone where it authenticates me and finds the mail server details and what I want to sync but then errors right at the end with that message.

I use 2 exchange servers from different organisations and only one fails.

The one that works is using Exchange 2010 although I have no idea what the one that fails is.

Any one else have this ?
