Hey gang, Im new around here.....

Just bought my first Android 2 days ago. I now have the Mytouch 4G with t-mobile and so far its a blast and i love it. I'm transitioning from Team Blackberry and so far im happy to have come to Team Droid. I love the operating system and all its functionality's.

In two days id say the only thing i don't care for is lack of screen shots without root access.... This should be built in to every top phone IMO.

Also i have a question, is rooting the way to go with Androids? Ill look into it further but some quick opinions wont hurt from you guys.

Rooting is the way to go if you take time to get to know your phone and follow directions. But usual caution when rooting you are taking chances with your phone and this can void any warranty.

If i UNroot before i return the device the warranty would still be good right??

Yes... if you remove root access it's unlikely that the carrier will determine that you rooted your phone.
