Lol aside from the obvious fact that i pretty much have to have every new phone that comes out haha

I need some help

I have my at&t account with my captivate and while i am nearly positive, that i will be transferring my contract to a friend...I also now have tmobile...

A mytouch 4g and an HD7

I am between a rock and a hard place.

I am so familiar with Android and pretty much know how everything works...And the applications are so vast....

With Windows Phone 7, I learned everything pretty well and it has been such a great experience for me thus far aside from a few things...

Window phone Annoyances
1)Cut and Paste-Ehh, its not such a big deal but i hate not having it but i have adapted to the lack of it
2)no ringtones
3)browser sometimes randomly just closes...
4)Camera is subpar
5)Lack of apps

However, I am in love with UI, Zune, and speed...
Getting to the point, i am willing to settle for Android but i want to know
do you guys know of any ROMS or home replacements
that mimic some of the UI of Windows Phone 7?

Lol it's going to sound silly,
but i would hate to leave Android officially because this is such a lovely community and most of you have been so helpful...and i am in love with the mytouch 4g and i still sorta like my captivate(Speaking of which, i need new friends for tango and fring)

But is there anything i can do to mimic the Wp7 on either my mytouch or either my captivate??? Because Android's UI(touchwiz, sense, blur, etc). seems so very archaic to me now that i have used windows phone 7 for the past month with my focus & hd 7

Sorry if im rambling or dont make any sense
Thanks guys(and girls)

What is it about WP7 that makes it seem so advanced compared to Android? I have not had the opportunity to try one out yet. From the videos that I have seen and the reviews I have read, I have not been impressed.

If you do need to satisfy your hunger for the latest device, go for it. It is not my place to stop you. It seems to be what you want. No hard feelings.

It's possible to get a WP7 look. There's been tutorials posted. I made one myself using custom tiles, Desktop Visualizer, and LauncherPro Plus (ADW works too). You can check out the example in the album on my profile.

I tried out an HD7 the other day and admit I was intrigued. It may not be as advanced as Android but I was amazed at how responsive it felt. Also pretty easy to figure out.

Android has been great and I have explored, played with and used a lot of android phones from the Droid/Droid Eris back in November 2009 all the way to mytouch 4g now as my latest..and even horrible phones like the backflip and hero

I believe WP7 is pretty advanced because all the things that "I" need it to do...it does it well...Android can do the same thing such as multimedia but aside from the galaxy s devices(not including an epic), music and videos is kind of archaic vs zune capabilities on wp7, social networking intergration in my contacts is much better with wp7 and it does make things easier...and the tiles are a lot more functional then the drop down window

However, android is more mature and it has a lot more apps compared to the infantile wp7 and i love the fact i can video chat on the go with my mytouch and the fact i have wi-fi calling....

Which is why i was hoping to be pointed in the direction of a custom rom that can imitate the Wp7 OS...so i can have the best of both

Carmen, babygirl...Yes, u most certainly do.....:p

You went thru Android phones like a buffet dinner at Golden Corral...now you may be leaving Android all together for another OS.

I need some of your money. But if I was to leave Android, WP7 would be what I would leave for. I have to have that choice of phones that the iPhone doesnt offer.

U still need help tho....

I'm sort of in the same boat. I have T-mobile and AT&T and I was recently thinking about jumping on the Samsung Focus. Only problem is, it's Samsung and WinMO (yucky combo). I haven't had much pleasure dealing with the HD2 so I'm kind of hesitant on getting another WinMo phone.

Hell, I havent really seen any good phones on AT&T period, besides the iphone4 and that's really not something I'm interested in. Hopefully AT&T's new line up next year will impress because I don't know how much longer I can take with the Pantech Reveal.

WP7 is that great that you'd leave Android for it, eh? o_O For some reason I swore you'd be bored with it pretty soon considering how *cough* boring it is :p But maybe for you it has become functionality>customability, lol. Well looking at your phone history, you might just come back to AF when there are new Android phones for 2011 with dual core processors ;)

Haha, I am still here :)
You guys can't get rid of me that easily lol haha

Honestly, my android history started with the Droid and Droid eris back on their launch day in 2009...I had an HTC imagio and was extremely unsatisfied.

I had always wanted an iphone but being on VZW at the time, that wasn't happening
so i went with the Droid, Droid Eris, Palm Pre Plus and back and forth with the Droid and Droid Eris(and that brief stint with the KIN), switched over to Sprint for the Hero and EVO....hated them and swapped back to Verizon(traded accounts) for a Droid X

and then switched to At&t for the Captivate(Ehh), backflip(would be a lot better if it was a bit bigger and a lot faster...great concept) and a xperia x10(LOVE IT...Just hated it was locked down on At&t)...I tried an iphone 4 and it just couldn't compare to Android...So i dropped it after like 2 days and sold it...

Now I am with T-mobile I am with a mytouch 4g and HD7...
I love Android but i suggest that you guys try out wp7...Just for a day...Android will feel slightly Archaic and boring...True, it doesn't have all the customization and hacking abilities that you can find even on low end Androids
but out of the Box, it works and catches your eye a whole lot better than Android...

I'm kind over android but I just love this community :)
I thought about doing a review(possibly a video)
with the Mytouch 4g vs HD7

That being said...WOW, I REALLY DO HAVE A PROBLEM HAHA
But i can see me and windows phone 7...and the HD7 actually staying together
for awhile...
NOT TO MENTION, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ZUNE!

Get rid of any issues that you had with HD2...Played with one and this is a completely different beast...Sure it has the same look and pretty much identical hardware

But the OS for WP7 is so much more refined than Windows mobile 6.
Haha I say come on over to TMO :)

I used to persuade my friends to get whatever android phone i had at the time and now that i do that with a mytouch...i am doing it now for the HD7 as well as the Dell Venue Pro!

For the brief moment that i spent checking out with WP7, i will say it was nice but nothing mind blowing to me. I think they try to put themselves between Android and IOS.The whole tile thing do nothing for me,whatever WP7 has to offer i think Android already provide and more. How you find Android archaic and boring is beyond me. WP7 is new and so many will see something new in it but give it a few month,if changing the tile color can't be more boring well i don't know what to say.Nice to see you holding on to a Android device as well.

When I say Archaic, i dont meant discredit Android of any of it's Merit...
Its like being married to the same man or woman for so long and your used to their routine and then your mistress is a bit different and new...You still love your spouse the same but your just captivate by the new things your mistress can do

HAHA hopefully that analogy made some sense(its almost 1 a.m.)

I say it's archaic...or at least boring in the sense of the UI...
The Font on Wp7, The transitions and just overall interface just are in your face, flashy, and fun...It's not just about changing the tile colors because i rarely do that(i rarely changed live wallpapers on my android phones) and to be honest...I always like having more homescreens on sense vs. stock but i never actually really customized it much past whatever was already on there when i first got the android device

but i do agree with your logic...It's definitely in the middle of IOS and Android
and i think provided it stays in that spot, it can definitely succeed!

But i can't give up Android completely :)

im with you carmen, i love my droid but im equally in love with the zune software, and am thinking of switching to WP7 for the zune experience. id keep my droids and ocassionally cheat on wp7 :p

now when you say camera issues is it major? I only got to play with wp7 for like 45 minutes before the GF dragged me out of the store kicking and screaming(really did but only cause im friends with the employees there :p)

so you cant change the ringtones? what kinda tone dose it default to? can you make it an mp3 file?

As of right now u can only use the ringtones that actually come with the phone..u know, the standard polyphonic BS...

My phone is on vibrate usually or silent....

An update is coming in early January to bring that feature to the Windows Phone 7 platform...along with cut and paste

Honestly, for day 1...i hated it...Im so used to hearing my music and ringtones...I am one of those lame ppl who call myself sometimes to hear my ringtone lol

but after you get over that, its not a big deal and i see now why ppl get aggravated when they hear loud ringtones

Lol i have no problem cheating on Andy
it's been an amazing affair...lol

Android is a great OS as I always say but you have to take the time to customize it and flash all sorts of ROMS and out the box, the metro UI and Zune software is amazingly great...

As far as the camera issue goes, its an HTC HD7 thing not a Windows Phone 7. I hate the camera on my HD7...The pictures come out horrible
and like the HTC HD2, sometimes it has a random pink hue on pix that have a white background...Like when i took of my mytouch 4g...

If i were you and I had At&t, I'd get a Samsung Focus or Lg quantum
If you are with Verizon, then they are going the HTC mozart
and Sprint is getting the HD 7 Pro(HD7 with a keyboard basically...and its slightly smaller but its basically the same)

Or get the Dell Venue Pro if your with Tmobile....
