about your homescreens

I only have one homescreen. I don't need background widgets consuming my data and hogging my CPU.

I fell in love with your wallpaper :D
I only use four home screens. If you don't need to see any online widgets which give you immediate informations about weather, stocks, your team's condition and your country's wikileaks documents, you don't need 7 or even 4. 1 would be enough.

I am currently using 4 homescreens.

The main one is for battery widget and important icons and shortcuts.

2nd has beautiful widgets and some other shortcuts.

3rd one has samsung "feeds and updates" widget. It takes the whole screen.

4th one is most of the times blank but is used if I have to try a widget or post a note.

I use one screen as Home

1 as Useful apps ( Film Industry apps in fact)

1 as general apps (email, gmail, calc, calendar)
and the most handy..1 as Direct dial (with icons photos of nearest and dearest )

4 in total. None live connected to anything.

Battery lasts 2-3 days no problem with wireless always on.

I go for a minimalist approach. I only use one home screen. Using Folder/Application Organizer and Launcher Pro, I can quickly scroll my dock to open any application I need while having a few key widgets on my home screen (Sundroid, Weather Channel, ICE, To Do and Calendar).

Screen shot shows scrollable folders on bottom dock, then what happens using Folder/Application Organizer when I tap on any "folder" in the dock. It opens a folder for those types of apps. In this case, I have it set for this icon to open my media folder.

Using Application/Folder Organizer Programs and Launcher Pro, I just don't see the need for more screens for my needs.

I use all 7 home screens, and I'm a new user (about a month now). Eventually I may have to use folders to pack more stuff in per screen. Several screens have a large widget suited to the theme for that screen

1) WIDGET: Program monitor || THEME: games (angry birds, pocket legends...)
2) WIDGET: Facebook || THEME: social apps (Skype, Kindle, cardiotrainer...)
3) WIDGET: google || THEME: utilities (ES file explorer, browsers, task mgrs...)
4) WIDGET: youtube || THEME: multimedia (Pandora, T-mobile TV, Gallery...)
5) WIDGET: agenda || THEME: productivity organizers (calendar, emails, alarm...)
6) WIDGET: audio manager || THEME: musician apps (Chordbot, Electrum Drum...)
7) WIDGET: battery || THEME: info (speedtest, wiki, Earth, US Constitution...)

The home screens are like the computer desktop where you place your most frequently used applications. Too many shortcuts just clutter up the desktop and reduce efficiency. I would remove any shortcut that is not used daily (or at most weekly) and reduce the number of home screens accordingly. The use of folders to group shortcuts is a good organizational tool as well.
