Ok, I'm dissapointed, but maybe it's because I'm spoiled with my Hero. My wife just got the moment and I really dislike the SMS UI. Its all black, and just says ME: Other Persons name: no avatar etc.

Anyone know if theres a way to show the contacts avatar/image just like the Hero? I hate to install handcent for functionality that basically already exists by default. I Know it doesnt have popup's etc like handcent, but ..unless theres another app out there? I just hate to install app after app taking up memory...ya know?

HTC has modified a bunch of stuff in the HERO.. Samsung moment is is vanilla (stock) android.. Basically all HTC did was replace the messanger with their own.. so you should do the same thing (handcent)

Hancent replicates the Ipod messaging. does a pretty good job. I personally like the stock app as it does what i want. Recently the stock app messes up the order of my messages as sent. Ex. I receive a message, i reply. for some reason, it places the message i just sent above the one i received. messages seem to arrive fine, its just a bug. issue is non existent with handcent.
