Root returning my phone back to stock

You want S-On. Just out of curiosity were you running any kind of custom kernel? Because that can happen with some kernels that your phone doesn't agree with.

no i was running a stock evo. and it started randomly rebooting. then i hard reset it didnt fix it. and now i rooted it thinking that might help. now i need to go back to stock to get a new evo. but im stuck at the part where the pc36img wont load

And herein lies my problem. I have rooted 5 different Android phones with no problem, but have never been able to unroot. Now that I have the Evo, I'm hesitant to root it because everyone seems to have problems unrooting. Good luck to you.

its amazing being rooted. i just wish my evo wasnt randomly reseting when the battery gets hot if that wasnt a problem i wouldnt care to have it root and all that.

I have personally unrooted and it took a matter of minutes with no hiccups what so ever.

I know we have tried trouble shooting big time and this may sound like a stupid question but ill ask anyways ;)

The pc36img is on the root of your sd card correct?
If so, you are manually booting into hboot (the white screen with the little androids on skaeboards) and letting it search for the pc36img?

i dont understand what root of sd card means. its in folder for clockwork. and yes the phone scans the img and says no image or wrong image. like 5 times.

if you have unroot could you give me a link you used?

Found your problem!!! Put the file directly on the sd card, meaning NOT in any folder. Once you do that reboot into hboot and it will find it. once it scans and finds it apply it and let it do its thing!

sd checking...

loading .. [ pc36diad.zip]
no image!
loading... [pcc36dia.nbh]
no image or wrong image!
loading... [pc36img.zip]

this is what its doing now with no asking too update so its a bad pc36img correct im hoping

How long are you letting it load for? It may take a few for it to load before it gives you an option to apply. I can't remember.
