This is the first OTA I've been involved with as a rooted Droid X user. Can someone give explicit directions for how to accept the OTA?

Background: I'm rooted, deodexed, running Rubix Focused 1.9.0 with the BlackAndroid theme. By System Version says: Version.2.3.15.MB810.Verizon.en.US, with Android Version 2.2.1

Step by step directions would be greatly appreciated - so I don't brick my phone. Thanks!!

you need to go back to a stock unrooted 2.3.15 to receive the update.

I was really hoping that wouldn't be the verdict... but thanks for letting me know.

Long as we're at it, I used visionary to root, will I be able to re-root using that? And will other ROM's work with the update? Or should I hold off on updating until the magical devs get things updated. I'd like to flash Fission 2.3 after the OTA. Thanks again!

unrooted maybe. but custom roms block the update.

You could just wait for the sbf to drop (2.3.34.) and flash it over what you have and then add the new rom and theme back on top of it instead of going back to the stock 2.3.15 OTA again... Not that any of them are that difficult.

I myself have to wait till the sbf comes out as I am sure alot of us have already flashed the new leak...

But what if you're rooted but did not apply a custom ROM, but only a few themes and am deodexed?

This would be my question as well. I'm back on stock Froyo with LPP currently...flashed my nan this morning. I can understand rom blocking the update, but what about themes and a bunch of root only apps? I haven't themed it yet, but I'd like to until the OTA.

What I would say if you are still on 2.3.15 and you have a back-up of the OTA go ahead and add a theme if you want and once the updates start rolling out and see if you get it. The worst case is that you have to go to your back-up and restore it and then get the OTA.

If I remember correctly with the 2.2 OTA you could be rooted and as long as you did not remove any of the blur apps that the OTA was looking for you got the OTA with no problem. I think once you themed you have to either go to a back-up of SBF back to 2.1 to get the OTA.
