I rooted last night, 1st time ever!! Im running the latest skyraider rom and my 3g coverage is spotty at best, and I cant link my contacts to facebook. It says "no matches found". Im not to savvy with all the computer language and know how, I just read the info enough and was able to figure it out without bricking.

Im actually hesitant about upgrading the radio, cuz from what ive read, that's the most delicate task in relation to Bricking. or i maybe wrong

Is a radio upgrade necessary after root, and what about the facebook linking? Is that just something i have to live with? ive only tried 2 roms, cyanogen and this skyraider im using now. I lost or wasn't able to retrieve all of my phone contacts with cyanogen or, i didnt know how to get them.

ill be searching the forums as well, thanks for any help

No the radio upgrade is not necessary, and sounds like you had your contacts saved to "phone" rather than google. You want to go into your people/contacts appp and export them to your sd card, then you want to import them from your sd card and it will give you the option to save them to google.
facebook linking success depends on the rom, roms without sense(cyanogen, some versions of skyraider) will not sync with facebook that well unless your contact's name matches exactly with their facebook name before syncing.

I personally have had no problems with cyanogenmod syncing Facebook to my contacts. There's a specific option on the Facebook app that enables this.

yeah but facebook sometimes has a problem finding people in your contact list unless the "contact name" in the phone matches the "friend" name exactly. ie Have to have your "friends" full name in your contact list. Just my experience.
