Dock settings- how to get the black screen with green numbers?

I have a droid running 2.2- totally stock and I'm running launcherpro.

So I use my droid for an alarm clock, but I never use the dock since the screen is too bright. One day I woke up and went into the alarms menu to turn off the alarms (it was on a weekend). When I woke up, my droid showed the time in green lettering on a black background, but I don't know how I did it- any ideas?

Can anyone tell me how to keep the phone from going into "sleep" mode when it is in the dock? I want to keep the clock screen and not go into the black screen with green numbers after a few minutes. I have been searching the forums for like two hours now and can't find an answer. 2.2.1 NOT rooted.

I downloaded the app Alarm Clock Plus and it allows you to customize what you see on the screen and how long before it goes in to Sleep Mode (Never is an option). I know it is not an exact answer to your dock question but this might be an option for you to avoid the sleep screen.

Thanks alot. I DLed the Alarm app. Seems like exactly what I am looking for and adds alot of extra features the stock alarm doesn't have. I am going to try out the free version for a few days and if all goes well I will get the paid version. It's amazing some of the simple features and options Google leaves out on the OS as a whole sometimes. Thank God for the Market I guess. Thanks again.
