I know there are a few threads about receiving this update but this is simply for the people with questions as to what is new/improved/bad with the update.

Please try to stay on topic as I know there will be alot of people wanting to know what is new and what still doesn't work since the update has released and not how long or how many times it took you till you were able to get the update. Thanks for your cooperation. :D

If need be....

Red = Bad
Green = Good

Let's hear em people as I have yet downloaded this new update and would like to know myself, thanks again.. :D

They supposedly fixed the kernel panics that were causing spontaneous soft resets.

I used to get this problem during navigation. I am running the 2.3.320 leak and I ran navigation for a while yesterday and this morning and haven't gotten a reset yet, knock on wood.

I get:
"Your device is up to date!
No update is necessary at this time."

But I was getting:
"Update not available at this time" earlier.

I'm on 2.3.15. Never been rooted.
Weird. I was able to download the update earlier, but it failed. I tried some stuff like clearing cache in recovery mode and then when I came back into the system updates check it tells me my device is up to date.

I'm on 2.3.15, rooted.

At least it's not just me who can't pull the update at this time.

Could they have pulled the update?

Gallery bug (Camera Roll hangs while loading) has been fixed.

Battery Manager no longer force closes

Dialer has been updated to include most recent caller and number auto-complete on the dialpad page.

Overall feel of responsiveness and stability has improved.

No way outside of rooting to remove yet another useless program pushed by VZW (Madden 2011).

Got the update at about 2am! One fix was the annoying take a pic, hit the gallery icon in the left corner and the side scrolling pic screen comes up but it goes to the first pic u took 2 months ago. I had to swipe all the way to the right through all 200 pics to the new pic in order to view it.

Scrolling is smoother and the gallery app seems different also. The camera and the flash seem more accurate instead of taking that first pic and the flash either doesn't activate or it seems late, it right on time.

Also no more battery FC and the recent phone call shows up above the dailer now!

Isn't finding that the update is apparently no longer available a "finding" and isn't that in the thread title? :thinking:

I've read comments suggesting the initial availability and subsequent unavailability of the update is either due to a phased introduction or due to some installation problems experienced by a number of the initial test group. If the latter, then there could conceivably still be some other changes introduced in later releases.

So far the battery manager doesn't force close. I'm once again allowed to have my system lock time set to greater than 20 minutes. Things feel smoother but that may be a placebo effect.

My Market still FCs when updating apps and I still don't have the "similar" tab. Lost root but regained it with Z4.

in order to get the "similar" tab i had to go to settings/manage/market and clear data. worked like a charm.;)

The screen slide lock is still gone in this update. Not that I really wanted it, but why did they eliminate it? I liked the large digital clock on the screen lock.

Also, my Yahoo account still doesn't show any notifications when I receive an email. For some reason, this stopped working in the 2.2 update and nobody knows why.

Dude, it's embarrassing how many times I've tried that. I have no idea why it won't work. It's not that I think it's an important feature, just bugs me that it's not there.

in addition to clearing the data+cache for the market app, i had to uninstall the "market updater" app. you can find it on the "all" tab in the applications app. first time i started the market after that, there was the EULA and a bit of a delay, then i had the similar tab.
