Root Does anyone have the full 2.3.340 update.zip

Here it is and I just did it and it works fine:

Droid X 2.3.340 Update - Page 4 - xda-developers

You copy the update.zip to your SD card... to the root not in a folder. Then power off your phone and boot in to recovery mode. Hold the Volume Down and Home key and then push the power button. You'll get a screen with an exclamation point. Hit the search button, then navigate down to apply update.zip from SD card. It installs and you're done.

This works! I confirm it, I just flashed it on mine.

Well darn, I guess I'll just wait for the SBF. I wonder why I get build.prop crap with my update.

If you are getting a build.prop error, you have messed with or replaced your build.prop file. There is an easy fix, just put the iriginal file back in your system folder. Don't have the original? Then read this post I linked to below. I uploaded the file that I used there, and it works fine to update. You'll need to manually enter your preferred build.prop changes, or use the other file I uploaded. The files you need are on page two of this post:

Just used this file to update and was able to update and re-root with z4root flawlessly. I used this file instead of taking the OTA update because this file was the original one (without the Madden 11 data) that went out first, not the second update that some people were having trouble rooting. If anyone is holding off because of the rooting issue, I can confirm this update.zip and z4root worked.

PS you guess want to make sure and do the .320 Full sbf before you do the update. I tried to go from .315 to .340 using the updater and I got all sorts of bootloader problems.

IE

SBF .320 Full first
Then SBF .340 System only

Then get some gingerbread w/ Apex :)

Not true, you might be thinking of the files that take you from 320 to 340 - this is the actual OTA zip file. I went straight from 2.3.315 to 2.3.34.
