Help Built in APPS

First let me apologize if this has been asked many times before.

I just purchased my first Android phone (Droid Incredible) and I noticed that even if I kill apps they just reopen with out my input. For example City ID, Skype, Footprints, vz navigator and Voice Search all load up with out any input. I do use Advanced Task Killer to kill them but they just return with in minutes.

I want to try to maximize my battery life and feel that these apps will drain the battery. When I try to remove the apps the "uninstall" button is grayed out. Does anyone know if these apps do in fact hurt battery life? If so is there a way to stop them from loading?

First thing, REMOVE THE TASK KILLER. Contrary to belief, they do more harm then good.Read this: http://geekfor.me/faq/you-shouldnt-be-using-a-task-killer-with-android/ Second, you can't get rid of apps that come preloaded on your phone. The only way to get rid of them is to root your phone. They won't hurt your battery to much, as long as you aren't using them. Just because they are opened in the background, doesnt mean your phone is using them.

Agree with everything Kenny said...

They aren't using ANY battery, and are causing NO performance loss. Let them be, you are DEFINITELY doing ALOT more harm with ATK.

I'd suggest installing System Panel, so you can monitor what apps/services are using resources (really, the only important resources to keep an eye on are CPU and network). You'll see they are using NO CPU, NOR network.
