Root Rooted phone with Z4root

Just rooted my Ascend with z4root. really easy method. had no issues with it. gained root access. ran setcpu for overclocking im running at max 600 mhz does improve speed of phone. Especially with all the apps i have on my phone. Although it does need a custom rom to run it over 600 mhz but that may be a minute.

hey well i was wondering for a few more specifics if ya dont mind...
1. I guess u downloaded and installed it through the market? or manual install?
2. Did you reboot the phone after installing z4root? i think i read there were some hanging issues if you didnt reboot the phone b4 rooting...
3. Will having this phone rooted effect updating to 2.2 when it is released?
4. Could you possibly tell me which files you deleted to get rid of uno, mb2, and photobucket and how you got to the files and deleted them...(did u need an app?)

no its not a virus... its a tool to root your phone.

i got it off the android market. downloaded it. ran the app.restart phone after app is loaded. it took my about five minutes to root. now the good thing about z4root this app allows you to unroot.as far the update with 2.2 u can unroot and update the phone. thats from what i read and researched.now thing with these rooted phones alot of the companies are making sure u dont have root access with 2.2. so i really dont know if z4 root will work after update. as far as deleting some apps i really didnt. u can though u have to back up those files that come with phone. i hope that answered your questions. if you have more hit me back.

well dont know anything about a rom upcoming.... not really positive about the update.. just see where an admin at Huawei Technical Forum: Huawei Ascend (M860) FAQs ... is stating there will be in early 2011

Lol you can't everclock on the stock kernal. You overclocked to 600mhz??? That is the stock speed LOL!!

Why are you saying that?? Just cause it says "Huawei Staff" under his username??? Everyone has that tag under their username. The person who said this is not Huawei Staff. So it it's prob just a rumor.

Ok finally got it rooted and was able to remove Uno, Midnight Bowling and Photobucket. Have yet to see a problem yet. Used z4root and Titanium Manager (Free) with no problems.

Can you tell me if you used an app to uninstalled uno etc? I tried using Astro file manager but kept getting an "error removing file".

Hey deris if you look a little closer you will see that he is an admin... dont know that says much but he is more then just a normal user.

It took me a little while to root my phone with z4root 1.2.1.apk, I had to shut down my phone a couple of times and run the program 4 times before it finally worked fine. Using Barnacle for wireless tether!!!

how high can you set the cpu speed for the ascend? or is 600mhz good enough?
