New Swype Version Now Availalbe

I got the below email from Swype today and just downloaded/installed Swype to my Hero. It was well worth the wait. I can't believe what a difference it makes to not have to type on the little buttons on the stock keyboard.

Not sure if this is a new feature on this new version of Swype, but it now has a speach to text button on the keyboard, so you can basically use it anywhere there is a user input field. (I used to only use this feature on Handcent before.)

Anyone else get this email?

Oh great! I just lost my Swype! It was working fine last night and now I can only tap to type. I turned my phone off and now I'm getting the message that my device is registered to another account. I can see the Swype marks, but it doesn't input any text. I was so excited to finally get it. Sigh......

Same thing happened to me when I was able to get Swype working on my Incredible last night. Just got frustrated so I uninstalled it. I have found that typing normally is quicker for me anyway.

What use is it if it's not not available to buy 9 months on ? (correct me if I'm wrong). How many damn Beta's need releasing before we see a purchasable product ??

Still seems very weird to use though.

It seems really weird but then again I've been using it for months and now when I go onto my Girls desire I always start swyping on the stock keyboard!

Best thing for people to do is register and then when they do another release they will send you the link. Well worth doing it!

It's alot of use if you can get it that is. You'd expect the product to be available after this long (and this much testing).

I'm using SlideIT but wanna try Swype.....if it ever gets released.

Could be, but you'd think they'd want to start raking in some revenue from all those "betas" out there. I have a different theory ... they licensed Swype to a couple of manufacturers like Samsung and HTC with the stipulation that it would not be released to the general public, giving them a unique and desirable feature. They can get around this by permitting non-conforming phones to participate in testing (aka beta) until the terms of the original license runs out and they are free to sell it.

Of course I'm just speculating. It could be that the creator is using it as a tax write off for his highly profitable Alpaca ranch.

I've done an overhaul of all the Swype threads that discussed about the new update and beta invite that opened up across AF to this one BIG one! Now I'm sure to get the bunsen burner for this

I'm quite excited about this version of Swype. The mic functionality is a must and might make me finally leave Shapewriter

Just to get this over with and I know most of you have heard this many times already but just for the new users who don't know our stance. I just want to remind everyone of the Site Rules/Guidelines that linking/distributing/asking of copyrighted materials is NOT allow here So refrain from asking for the swype apk if you were planning to

search your old email because when you first registered they sent you a confirmation with your password attached... sadly I had the same problem but just kept entering passwords until i hit paydirt took 9 passwords but now I have it...

The only version you can get is the official beta that is being discussed in this thread, unless Swype was pre-installed on your phone.

None of the themed versions are official, so no one here can help you.

I am having such a terrible time with the Swype website. I have been trying and trying and trying to log in to Swype and it tells me that my username or password is invalid. And no matter how many times it sends me an email to reset the password, the new password never works.

Now I'm trying to get the issue resolved on the Swype forums, and the brand new login info for the Fing forum that I have written down next to me and logged into for the first time 30 minutes ago now no longer works!!! And neither does the new reset password that they sent to my email! WTF!?

I also got my invite (this morning) to Swype beta and just installed and love it! I've been waiting for months and really did give up on ever getting it. I have been using SlideIt, but I'm liking Swype a whole lotta better

hahah I just signed up last night,

went to log in and it let me send the swipe installer to my email.

guess the beta isn't really closed?

Anyways, anyone who hasnt signed up on the site give it a shot, then sign in and see if you can get the email. Worked for me!

Just logged in now, and it allowed me to choose to resend the email. Downloading now!!!
