Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

"This ROM is only for Droid X users who have done the .320 leak or have gotten to .340 via OTA update or SBF. This is not compatible with 2.3.15"

DX newb here...I was stock yesterday. Found the .340 update.zip, applied it fine. Does getting to .340 via update.zip from .315 qualify me to install this?

After applying the update.zip to .340, I rooted, then Bootstrapped and installed ROM Manager as well. I've completed a backup.

If you are running .320 or .340 then you can flash away....

Hey guys, did you get the Market/Gmail FC's figured out? I'm pretty sure it's because I updated all the Gapps to the latest versions, but if you came frome 1.2.1, they were downloaded from the market and are on /data

What you end up with is 2 copies of the same thing, and that's confusing :D

I've gone ahead and updated the instructions for 1.2.1 users that want to keep data, that they should just uninstall updates to all Gapps before flashing and they should be fine.

Just flashed this and it is amazing..... I love the work you do Fab and will never stray after trying others this is what the Droid X should be!!!!

Just a quick question, is there any way to get the percentage on the battery back??? If not no biggie, but was just curious. Thanks for all your hard work again... :D

One other thing. I tried the clock removal in Rom Manager and it wouldn't work for me. Even tried uninstalling RM and then reinstalling it. It worked with 1.2 but not this one..[/QUOTE]

Actually after messing around with Rom Manager I can't get anything to work. Can't even make a back up right now. Even after reinstalling. Anyone else having these issues?

ROM manager has been really flaky of late. Here's what I'd do.

Just use it to download the file, but don't actually install it.

Go into bootstrap recovery and bootstrap, then reboot recovery. You can then manually install .zip from sd card from within recovery. Anything you downloaded from my section in here:

clockworkmod/downloads/fabdroid.com/

Clock removal mod worked fine for me using bootstrap.

the themes from 1.2 work on 1.3.

yes i am well aware of that, i was wondering if he was going to make themes based off of gingerbread.

i installed the 1.2 revo theme, but noticed the force closes on gmail, adding accounts wasnt helping, so flashed back to 1.3 stock rom no theme, and thought to myself, the revo theme's web icon stays gingerbread but the dialer doesnt, weird.

and i am wondering if he developes a theme in which the circle battery indicator is green, along with the network, just a green android theme to go with gingerbread, may make the revo theme perfect, for me and some others, cause im sure im not the only one who misses the circle battery.

however i am aware that fab is a busy man so when he gets time to configure these themes, i know he will make sure they are up to par before he releases them to us.

I'll be honest. I've tried several roms. I like to give all devs a chance. The latest was tranq 3.6, which is a perfectly good rom with a great, responsive dev in p3droid. But I always find myself coming back to Apex. This last update (1.3) is simply super.

Fab, I've been enjoying your roms for so long, I'd feel like I'm stealing if I didn't donate. So I did. It was only a few bucks (have a kid on the way so I need to save as much as possible). But if you continue to crank out great roms and themes at your current pace, I'll have no choice but to donate again. Damn conscious.

Typically when GMail force closes after applying a theme it's because there's two copies of GMail. You'll need to either uninstall GMail before applying the theme or open up the theme zip file and remove the gmail.apk and then apply the theme. (I know Fab just said something similar above but I wanted to clarify.)

Something else that I noticed... applying NexTheme 1.2.1 over this moves the lock screen slider back up to where it was previously. I'm not sure whether or not I prefer the new position or not. I'll have to give it some time.

yeah, it's just defined in framework-res.apk, but I used the .340 version in 1.3.0

I kind of like it because I use the lock screen music controls a lot, and this gives it a lot more space. Previously, they were right up on the sliders.

Flashed this as soon as I got to work this morning. All I can say is Amazing! This runs so smooth and the level of customization is great.

My only question is can someone provide a list matching all of the .apk files in the removedapps-1_2 ZIP with the actual name of the app? I can figure out what most of them are, but there a several that i am not sure about.
