android 2.3 gingerbread on Tab

That means with any luck the tablet and maybe even the vibrant will receive Gingerbread. Especially on the Tablet: Android 3.0-Based Tablets Ready in December - Softpedia

We now know that article is in correct because Gingerbread is 2.3 not 3.0. 3.0 is going to be Honeycomb and it will bring with it the Tablet specific functions and UI updates. 2.3 may have some improvements for the Tab but it doesn't look like it's going to be the full blown Tablet OS that we are waiting for.

oh ok, That's one thing that(don't hate me) Apple did right made a semi-different iOS for the iPad from the start.

Apple is awesome at product launches but terible at giving the customer choice. I don't like being told what I can and can not have on my tech devices when I pay good money to own them. Apple seems to have every accessorie ready for sale on launch day and every Android device seems to take months to get the accessories available and out the door. I still don't see the media dock available and it's been a month since launch.

I just now checked there and the normal dock is ok but I kind of fancythe Galaxy Tab Full Size Keyboard Dock better. Still both cool. Still wish the battary was replaceable so I could charge for a 13hr roadtrip.

If your road trip is in a car then you only need the car dock. It charges the Tab and I found out that when it says "Car Mode" it means it keeps the screen on as long as it's in the dock. It worked great. The Keyboard dock has no HDMI connections but it is a great keyboard. I just wish you could change the media buttons to the default app of your choice instead of the default Samsung apps only. If you are using an aftermarket lock screen then the Home button on the keyboard will not unlock the screen like it does for the stock lock screen.

That sucks. Also on a different note, have you played "Pocket God" on your Tab and if so how awesome is it compared to on the vibrant?

Also, I feel we somehow went off topic but I forgot what the topic was about mostly so it works out good :)

One more thing, How do you like ur Tab and is the battery life good?

I haven't played that game yet. As for the battery life? I get all day on a charge and then some. Since I got the keyboard dock, I keep it in the dock now so I have usually over 80% left when it goes on the charger at night. But without the dock I was getting all day and had atleast 20% or more left when it went on the charger at night. Hopefully, in addition to Gingerbread, We can get an update to make web pages go desktop version. With this big of a screen, we don't need mobile versions of web pages. My Droid Incredible has no problems displaying all web pages in Desktop using Dolphin HD browser so I know it's firmware causing the Tabs issues.

Has anyone found any Tablet add on's in Gingerbread through any of the reviews or blogs?
