Want to confirm this is an anomaly on my phone, and not prevalent on the Droid X's. If I view my blank or black screen at a 45* or so angle and not under direct lighting (say the room light is behind you and your body is blocking direct light hitting the screen), I see "waves" of distortions that change/move as I angle the phone in my hand. I do have a screen saver which can create similar optical distortions, but this was there Day 1 with no protector on. My best guess is that the Droid X screen is constructed of multiple layers, and between one of the layers they left some sort of film/liquid. It looks very similar to taking two pieces of glass and putting a drop or two of some type of clear liquid (water, light oil), and when you put them together it spreads out and creates these optical puddles distortions.
Now this part makes me part anal, but under full lighting and/or screen is lit up and displaying anything but a black background, then the distortions are not visible..... I checked another Droid X phone today and his did not exhibit this artifact.
Anybody else have this? I only have a couple of days to exchange. Thanks.
