Root Messed up - Can someone send me the Cityid.apk for 2.2

I know this thread is old but being on a custom ROM now I miss having this installed. I tried installing the apk above and it won't install..."application failed to install" Does anyone have an apk that will work? Thanks in advance

I got this one a while back before I rooted. It's not the exact same program as CityID, but it does the exact same thing. Just no pop up asking to pay for it. The placement of the text could be better, but it works and it's free.

Oh, just an FYI though, I have NOT tried to install it since I rooted my phone.

I'll give it a try. when you say text placement could be better, do you mean on the caller id screen itself? I'm kinda confused. Also, does CityID (the original VZW) not work on rooted phones? There's an .apk above in this thread that I tried and it wouldn't install. That would make sense if root is the reason

On my phone, the text is at the bottom of the screen and overlaps the answer/decline buttons. You can still press the buttons just fine though.

I haven't bothered to install the original cityid program because I don't want the stupid pop ups.

EDIT: Just installed it on my phone and it works perfectly. I also stumbled onto the settings and found that if you set it to display high, then it doesn't cover any buttons. W00t!

Sorry to bump this thread, but by putting this in my system\app directory then I should be good to go for an OTA, right? Also, is VZ Navigator required for the OTA as well? I downloaded that from the Market and moved that .apk to my system\app directory as well, but I just want to make sure that's the right one.

So what ever happened? did this particular apk work as far as allowing you to get the OTA working?
