How is the Music Player quality? Very important for me.

How is screen quality? Im used to 640x360 resolution on my phones and I believe hero has 320x240.

I have ATT so im assuming that I wont be able to us 3G correct, would this be a big deal?

I heard that you can only install apps on the device not the SD card, is this true? Will I run out of space?

Ive looked at many Vids and pics of it online, does it feel bigger or smaller in person?

Is 3.2 inches a good size? Again im used to 3.5-7.

Last but not least do you recommend the Hero, or should I wait for some other device like the nexus or X10, I just want a device that will last me a couple of years.

Hey,

Not in the US myself so cant comment on the ATT/3G thing.

Music Quality is great, no noticeable difference from my old iPod Touch. - However, sometimes mine does skip at the start of tracks, not sure if this is a common thing or just me or because I am only using a class 2 SD card, rather than something like class 6. Just something to be aware of.

It is true that you can only install apps on the phone memory, but I have never run out of space and have quite a bit on it, and the Android 2.0 update that is coming early next year for the Hero will allow you to install to SD card (Unless I am wrong about that, but I dont think I am.)

It's a brilliant size and shape, whenever I give it to someone to use they comment on how comfortable it is. i can't comment on how big of small becaue that would assume I knew how big you thought it was obviously. But It is brilliant in my opinion.

Screen size: I prefer the screen size to my old iPod touch, found that too big to hold comfortably personally, but again i think it is great, and it is used well when browsing as all options disappear, and leave the whole screen with the page in it.

Recommend it? - I LOVE MY HERO! but having said that I don't know a lot about the Nexus One, looking forward to it but haven't seen many details yet regarding spec and price which will all be relevant. It will last a couple of years because it will soon be getting android 2.0, so it not like it wont improve when you have it software wise. I dont think you would regret buying it because it is a great phone, (android is a massive part of that so the nexus is bound to be good as well)

Thanks so much! Also do you watch Videos on it? I hard it has trouble handling high res MP4's, not a big deal for me but just curious.

I find it perfect in quality of sound.

I have ATT so im assuming that I wont be able to us 3G correct, would this be a big deal?

You just need to buy a Canadian version of the Telus HTC Hero and you input the ATT ADNs (simple to do) and you have full 3G. If you buy a EU Hero it will not get ATT 3G and I would say that is a big deal.

You could run out of space but you would have to install literally a ton of apps. I would not worry about this.

To be honest I have only watched youtube videos on it so nothing HQ that I could comment on really.

IF you do get it, first thing to do will be check what version ROM it has, there was a recent update (October) and when i got mine, (end of November) it still had the old version, which made big differences to lag and stuff, and download a app killer, such as Taskiller, which stops apps that are still running and can really slow the phone down after a while.

Music play back is excellent, I believe Tech Radar have a pretty comprehensive review if your interested.

The form factor is amazing, although I do get a little envious of my girlfriends screen on her iPhone occasionally, however it is ample. Ergonomically its so much nicer than the iPhone it fits very well in the hand and feels great!

As for waiting for a nexrt gen phone, its a personal choice, I love my HERO and as long as the 2.1 update comes along I see it beinga very useable smartphone for the next 12 months or so.
