It's a toy for me, so who knows?
But as toys go, this is a reaallly good one.
I downloaded Angry Birds to help some others around here troubleshoot things.
I am actually now addicted to Angry Birds - my first video game addiction in over 35 years. Wouldn't have happened without the 4.3" screen.
With the memory issues and newest bloatware, rooted is the only way to go with this beast, that's for sure.
I'm really happy with it and now want the improved garbage collection and codec support coming with Gingerbread and the new Sense enhancements (cached maps, unified inbox).
At this point, it's doing way more than I could've ever expected out of a phone. I don't see any material changes coming for my use case.
That said - HTC is hiring display and e-ink engineers at their Research Triangle Park location.
If I am going to replace my Evo, and I don't think I am, but if I am, I'm going to do as near to the day that they come out with a display like a Pixel Qi - a hybrid of LCD and e-ink that easily switches between the two (a lot of my use - and all of my outdoor use would be way better with e-ink - not to mention the power saving that gives), maybe more memory, and more battery life.
I've no doubt that dual-cores await us, but I'll care when they demonstrate those with higher power efficiency - right now, it's a guess which way that'll go.
So - my use cases don't look to change soon - but if I can have them with longer life, e-ink+LCD, higher stability and higher speed - sure, you bet - it'll be new toy time!
But until then... man, I'm happy!
Cheers and best holidays to all!
(And yeah, I'm baaaaaack - trying to help new Androiders in the other forum threads, too. Was away for no-big-deal health reasons. You cats ain't losing me that easy!
