Show us your Desire Homescreens...

I have a request
I've been looking for a while for some decent icons.
I'm looking for clean ones, not to big, preferably aluminium, silver, that style (goes good on a dark wallpaper)
But it has to be a pretty complete set. So also icons for the popular programs we install on the phone.
I'm sure one of these sets have past by here, but cmon, 59 pages is to much to just browse through. Sorry

Hello guys, really some good homescreens and widgets.

I just wanted to ask you guys if you can name some good launchers for HTC desire V. 2.2 :)

launcher pro for the smooth scrolling! :)

the most popular ones (to my knowledge) are Launcher pro, ADW and Zeam. there are some other ones out there, but imo theyre not as refined. hope this helps! :)

Thanks a ton mate. I went to the aaps market and searched for the Launcher pro. After downloading, i'm unable to open it. The button with Open is grey, meaning I can't use it. Any help:(

I don't think you can open it. From what I remember, you can press the HOME button and you'll be given a window with the option to select between LauncherPro and Sense.

if you flash your desire with a rom after rooting it will you lose your whole UI and have to rebuild it from scratch? Because basically all I seem to need from a ROM is apps2SD+...

If you're on Froyo already and flash something like Teppic74's rooted froyo and a2sd+ support, You may get away without doing a data wipe.

If you have to wipe though, you can restore much of your stuff using titanium backup (provided you took one).

Have a look at the Rooting FAQ in my sig for more details.

I had the Orange OTA Froyo update before I rooted and flashed Leedroid ROM. My homescreens were originally set up using LauncherPro+ so after the flash I restored the LauncherPro app and data from the Titanium backup, and my original homescreens were restored. The only things that doesn't restore completely are homescreen widgets - the place-markers were there and I had to remove and re-add each widget in turn to get everything back to how it was.

Just make sure you have the required apps installed after flashing the ROM so that widgets will work.

I've just rooted today so I'm now looking around at ROM's.

Want something similar to what I already have with apps2SD+ & LP+ a must.

You happy enough with the Leedroid ROM?

leedroid is good, but its ALMOST pointless if you're using LPP since you cant use any sense widgets... and since LPP has sense-like widgets :p

i prefer defrost, it has apps2SD+, fast stable, OTA... lots of themes and custom kernels to your needs and desires. heh. no pun intended. ;)

Same, after testing different ROMS over the past 5mths, my conclusion was to use none sense and stick with Defrost. Much better customization which is what the Desire is all about and its faster.

Not had my Desire long (upgraded from a Legend) but already obsessed with customising it :)

As you can see I prefer clean, minimal screens with wallpaper that show off the icons and widgets.

Still took me ages to get everything exactly how I wanted.

List of widgets etc below.

Widgets:

Launcher Pro (dock).

Beautiful Widgets (clock).

SwitchPro (power controls - wifi, bluetooth etc).

Music Mod (cover art/music player).

Graphics:

Wallpaper - can't find details of who originally created it (will credit them if I can find out)
but you can download it here.

Dock background (added using Launcher Pro) was based on a Gingerbread version I found and then stretched so it fills all of the screen download it here.

Dock icons (added using Launcher Pro) are mostly from here apart from the launcher/drawer which is from here.

None of this involved rooting and I hide the notifications bar using Launcher Pro which makes it look even cleaner.

What does everyone think?

Finally rooted my phone to Leedroid 2.3, loving it so far. Also used the theme kitchen to edit the notification bar and all icons...using an animated notification icon set, but it's a bit hard to see in screenshots.

Launcher Pro Plus rocks obviously, and I'm only using 3 screens with a dark background to maximize battery life. Got a nice boost in battery life since switching to this setup :)

been messing around with launch pro and looks fun, but still dunno how to change the dock? can anyone help please

Preferences > appearance settings > dock background.

You then can choose between a few selections, or you can enter an image for your background, you can find tonnes of different backgrounds on the Net, just type in LPP dock backgrounds ;)
