If anyone is still experiencing the same issues or have new issues since the update was pushed, please contact Verizon tech support so they have all of it logged. If we all started complaining to verizon then verizon will go to HTC/Google and say something is up, fix this, etc. This would be a good thing to do.

Well, I'm glad to hear it. I actually called HTC and got such a rude brush off I was POd. I called and was calm and explained the issues I'm still having. I told the guy I was still having really bad signal issues and lockups even after a complete wipe; reload on two different Eris devices. All other phones that come around my home and places I go get excellent signal, the Eris does not. The guy refused to acknowledge that the update could've been bad or any software on the device was at fault and I was pretty much told oh well.

I still say this, the phone has only been out for 6 weeks! There will always be some issues with first generation electronics! HTC in my book is great for getting an update out within 6 weeks! I had to wait for about 8 months for my BB Storm to get an official update and even then the phone was not great! For me personally, my Eris has been much more stable than my BB Storm ever thought of being!

That's true although we definitely benefited from the Hero's development since this phone is basically an update of that phone. Still we are early adopters of this specific hardware. I have experienced very few to none of the issues of most users. Although I have probably just jinxed it and the next update will probably destroy me ...:D

It gave me an error every time I sent the ticket but it still went through.
Well, at least it went through...probably a website glitch. Someone had mentioned that HTC is starting to notice the amount of complaints since the update. So people should still keep contacting them. What bugs me is that I guess HTC said, in so many words to hope for the best. They wanted to place some blame on VZW which doesn't make since there isn't any preloaded VZW bloatware...its android with HTC Sense UI.....so why HTC is trying to place blame with VZW is beyond me.

They did say though that 2.1 should be a major step forward for the Eris and solve a lot of the problems....yeah....so its still a gamble for each of us with our issues.

Yeah one of the douchebags tried to say Verizon was the one who decided what version of the OS the Eris would ship with. >.>
Now, I understand Verizon dictates whether updates get pushed to the phone, but there's no way they control what version HTC ships their phones with. That's solely HTC's decision.

I can see at least VZW wanting or making recommendations...but its up to HTC not VZW. I can also see VZW wanting the Eris to be less attractive to help drive up sales of the Moto Droid. Its HTC that needs to deal with this because its either their crap or their bad hardware...hence the reason why I'm still trying to decide whether to keep the Eris.

The first time I called HTC, the guy was a real douche. I called back and got some clueless hick and seemed to barely understand what was going on but was nice.

Most of these customer service people are reading from a script and aren't really knowledgeable about technical issues or development. And they most likely aren't even equipped or inclined to pass on feedback to higher-ups.

At least the contact by e-mail option has a small chance of being forwarded on to someone who might have some level of influence, in my opinion.

And the person or people doing their twitter account also seem to do a good job answering these kind of questions. Tweeting or facebook posting in public and voicing your concerns that way at least gives us a loud voice. HTC (htc) on Twitter or HTC | Facebook

I've been following HTC on Twitter for a month, they offer no guidance about bugs whatsoever, all they tell us is to call their crappy tech line or email them.

im sure they know full well what the deal is. nothing will happen until the next scheduled update. we are lucky we are getting updates this fast as it is. when i was a crackberrian we had to steal internal OS releases, slice them up, and hope they worked to get the storm to be even functional.

So YOU were one of the guy's helping to keep me from pulling my hair out over the Storm! Thanks! So why are we starting the process over with the Droid series of phones? I mean--they finally got the Storm right. Can we EVER be satisfied???

@IceWmn9938 It might be that the sound file you have selected as the tone is missing or was renamed/moved. Try selecting a new sound.

Those of you who got the Droid Eris update OTA, how is it working so far? 140 character review...?

Thanks for all the feedback on MMS everyone. Very appreciated. I promise it will all go to good use!

Like I said, they are more likely to pass on things to people who can help with the updates. I couldn't find any mention of email or the tech line. Maybe I didn't go back far enough?
