Ok I have htc 4 evo and i dont think its fair that im paying $10 extra when sprint 4G doesnt cover my area i check the coverage map every week but nothing. I call they were saying weird stuff like excuses literally from a book like they write it down in case people call for that reason. Do you think its fair im only complaining because they told me before I got the phone that i had to pay $10 extra because of 4G but now i just realize is just not fair.. =/

What you think i should do?

Agreed. They are supposed to warn(inform) you. i already knew what i was getting into but even still, they never even mentioned it during activation. The plan is for them to go nationwide with 4g eventually and im sure than could remove the feature add-on according to region but i'm even more sure they won't. Part of that $10(if not all) goes to paying clearwire for WiMAX

It is not for 4g. Peroid. Who ever told you it was for 4g lied to you. It because you have a premium phone, that on a bad day can suck gigabytes of data only using a 3g network. You want the best phone on sprints network, you have to pay extra to use it. Once again, it is not for 4g, it is because you have a phone that can suck soo much data by itself, it can disrupt the network. If you do not want to pay the 10 dollar fee, then simply return the phone, select a lesser phone, and be happy. But the reason you selected the evo in the first place is the same reason that they are charging you the fee. You did not select the evo for 4g usage, and guess what, they are not charging you 10 dollars to use 4g. If you managed to call them up and harass them out of charging you the 10 dollar fee, you still can use 4g. Because the 10 dollar fee is not for 4g.

isn't 4g boosted data? it's like they increased 3g speeds. If it's not a 4g fee why is that extra 10 only attached to 4g capable devices? The transform and optimus can pull 3g data just as well as the epic and evo
Well there you go, 2 phones that do not have the 10 dollar charge. Of course they also have smaller screens, weaker radios, only 800mhz and 600 mhz processors, no front camera and the 1001 other details. But besides all that, they are really good low quality phones that do not have the 10 dollar fee. So if anyone wants to truly protest the fee, go to those phones. If you want one of the biggest and fastest phone in the world, you are going to pay for it.

Explain the Fee

you're are getting screwed and you can either take it in the rear or get a non 4g phone.

Wait man, you left out the third and final option. You could also go to ATT or VZW and pay more. At ATT and VZW the plans cost more and simply do not compare to Sprints. (e.g. Data caps as low as 2gb with ATT, 5GB with VZW).

As far as I am concerned, Sprint can call their fees whatever they want... in the end, all that matters is that I am getting more for less with Sprint. Its that simple.

I know i have to pay for it. im not complaining since i was well aware before i activated the phone. I was just unclear on exactly what the $10 was been charged for. thanks

Well, let me answer OP's question. What you should do if you're not happy with the $10 Premium Data fee is not purchase a device that you knew would require the fee. If it's still within the return window, return the device and get one that doesn't require the fee. If the return windows has passed, sell your device somewhere (i.e. EBay) and get a device that doesn't require the fee that way.
